We have had our Argos 12 bottle wooden wine rack now for longer than I can actually remember. We drink (or used to) a lot of wine in our house and we actually bought two of these - enough to house twenty four bottles of wine and we stored them next to each other to make it look like it was one very large wine rack. One of them broke eventually, we had had it so long and now we are left with just the one of them. We do not have it out as a display wine rack in the kitchen as it is a bit ugly in design and very basic, so we just keep it in the basement area where I keep a lot of my own personal stuff. We have a much better metallic one in the kitchen which goes better with our kitchen decor.

The Argos 12 bottle wooden wine rack came flat packed and I had to put it together myself. It came with instructions but they were not really necessary as it was fairly self explanatory and easy to assemble just by looking at it - you don't have to be able to be on the Krypton Factor to work this one out! It was (and still is) a bit unstable when it is put together and looks a bit like something I might have made in a woodwork lesson when I was in secondary school, but it does the job of holding twelve bottles of my wine. The more filled it is the more stable it is - ie if I keep it filled to the maximum capacity it is less likely to topple over.

The wood is light and flimsy and unfinished and quite rough in places, but I decided to sand mine down and varnished it in a darker oak colour to make it look a bit more attractive and classy. I didn't really help to make it look that much better to be honest, but possibly a bit.

It is standard in size for a twelve bottle wine rack and it 32cm wide, and 32cm high. It rocks about a bit, in fact it sways, that's the best way to describe it, so you can tell it not a stable thing to house your wine in, but as I say, I paid less than a fiver for it and it has kept going all this time so I can recommend it, but only if it is stored out of the way and not put on display as it's not easy on the eye.
