After reading a few reviews of others experiences with Argos, I thought I would do my own review as I have ordered a lot of things from them in this way for convenience.

...recent prices. I really like Argos online and think its a really simple way to shop. The website is bright without being overbaring and the welcome page is very easy to navigate. There is a search facility on the 1st page where you can type in the item no. your looking for or a search word. I like the fact that you can look through the latest price cuts online. Instead of having to look through a brochure you can look for particular items such as ... ...of how the product will last. It is also rated from 1 to 5 stars based on the customer reviews. Overall I think argos have done a great job with this site and prefer ordering online to going instore as I know the item will be in stock. ...

Advantages: Pre-ordered item arrived on release date in perfect condition. Customer service was very helpful. Disadvantages: System errors, inability to check order status, no dispatch notice, inappropriate packaging.
...chance to pre-order it. Argos offered the same deal as Amazon did. However, my last pre-order from Amazon (Resident Evil 5) arrived a day late - I was prepared to see if Argos could do any better. When I placed the order, having entered all of my payment details, I was presented with an error screen - oh dear! I was informed that because of a system error (a term which does not exactly fill me with the greatest of confidence, considering that I've ... ...However, I would recommend that Argos not be so trusting with the Royal Mail ability, or lack thereof, to take care of items. Overall, the Argos website appears to be trying to be something that its not, a company trying to clamber onto the internet retail bandwagon. The system is evidently flawed, there is no system of dispatch confirmation, it is impossible to check on order status (making the customer 'account' somewhat redundant in my opinion), ...

Advantages: Good choice, reasonable price Disadvantages: Very slow (ie non existent) delivery
...Therefore I decided to use Argos Direct to get a bed, bedroom furniture, plus a TV unit for the living room.
After browsing through the Argos catalogue I identifed the items I wanted, and then looked them up on the website. This was quick and easy to do. I selected the items I wanted and payment was taken. As all the items weren't in stock I was told that someone would contact me within 21 days to arrange delivery. I then realised I needed a couple ... ...these would be delivered within 28 days.
I kept an eye on the website during this time, and noted that each item individually became available for delivery, so was slightly bemused that I had still heard nothing.
After waiting patiently for the first order 21 days came and went with no-one contacting me. I contacted the call centre and was told that they were still waiting for an item, and that they would contact me as soon as possible. Over the ...

Advantages: Easy to order on line Disadvantages: you dont get what you order and they dont care
...refund after 22 emails to Argos DIrect I eventually got a refund in my bank still waiting for a letter of apology and explanation as to why they cancelled the order when I ordered it showed as in stock. My advice go somewhere else they have no customer care whatsoever and all you receive off them is a standard letter or email

...Reebok Fusion Cross Trainer from Argos as a gift for my wife on our wedding anniversary and for delivery the baby. I placed an order for the same on 13th April 2008. Total payment was : £154.84 because the item was on half-price sale. The delivery should have been within 28 days (on or before 13th May 2008). However I get a letter from the Customer Service department at Argos on 10th May 2008 saying that they don't have the item in stock and they ... ...(10 JUNE 2008) - Called Argos again last friday. No sign of the spare part till date. Called up Argos again and now they say that I have to contact the supplier directly and request for the spare part!
(03JULY 2008) - Given up on Argos! Finally decided to cancel everything and called them and cancelled the order a few weeks back. They collected it from my house promptly. Well....of the £150 have seen just £25 till date! Called them again and again ...
