I recieved a coupon for a free box of Ariel's new "Liqui-Tabs", and of course I went for it!
The box you get is huge, and will do 12 washes. There's 12 reasonably sized bags of liquid in clear plasticky stuff, that will of course dissolve in the wash, much like a bath pearl, as it says on the box.
Well, I wouldn't take it for granted that it WILL totally dissolve, as I found out:
I put on a 50 degree wash (my silly machine doesn't have a 40 gentle cycle), and followed instructions. i had used it a couple of times before this, on 60 degree setting. At the end of the wash I thought it had done very well, clothes very clean and fresh, until I got to one pair of trousers that were covered in dollops of goo!
yes,
the plastic-like pouch that the liquid is stored in hadn't dissolved as it should have, and must have got tangled in the material. I tried to wipe to goo off the trousers, but it left a whitish mark wherever the stuff had been, so they needed washed again. Now, when I put a cooler wash on, I am a bit worried that the same thing will happen, so I use my old liquid in a dispenser bubble instead for those washes.

I like this idea in principle though. No bother getting the right amount of liquid measured. It is the same for each wash (although I wouldn't waste it on a half wash, when it can do a full wash. You can't use half a sachet!!).
You just bung it in the machine drum before your clothes go in, and bingo. turn the machine on to the right programme.

saves time and mess, a bit pricey though.
over £3 for the 12 (this is a person who usually buys the product on offer, or the economy range).

give it a try though, at least test the experience :)
