As a 17 year old boy, you may not expect me to be interested in rather old or classic films like these. infact i was expecting the same. But as i was forced to watch the box set when on a some what rainy holiday, my imagination was captured by a rugged, hansome SeanConnery. whether he's trying to escape from Dr.No's island, hunting for the decoder, beating Goldfinger at golf, flying away from danger on jet packs or just plain old saving rhe world he encapulates the audiance in his films. i feel that SeanConnery captures the essance of James Bond in the films where he is cast, and is by far the best James Bond that i have seen so far.

Advantages: Sean Connery, Good storyline, Superb acting Disadvantages: None that I could think of. (Perhaps Sean Connery's performance made me ignore any cons?)
Why did I choose to watch this film? I can't remember as it was so long ago since I first watched it. (It was probably SeanConnery?) But since I watched it the first time, I enjoyed it so much that I have watched it again several times.
What is "The Rock?" The Rock is Alcatraz, once a high security prison, now a tourist attraction. General Hummel (Ed Harris), disillusioned over the lack of compensation awarded for soldiers lost or injured in covert operations, decides to have his revenge by taking 81 tourists of Alcatraz hostage and threatens to release missiles capable of completely decimating the nearby city of San Francisco if they do not meet his demands.
So they need help. Who do they call in? James Bond? No, but it is SeanConnery playing the part of John Mason, a prisoner the United States government tried to lock up ...
