Our last washing machine packed up and we went on the hunt for a new one, looked around some of the options on offer, and settled on this one.
It?s a condensing model which was great, no plumbing in a hose to vent or messing around with piping. Had a good selection of programs, and wash temperature easily selected.
It worked fine for the first year, and then the dryer packed up. We only ever really used the dryer in winter and then it was mostly just underwear washes so I can?t even say it was used a lot. There are only 2 of us in the house, and we?d do 1 load a week with the dryer. Basically the heating element seems to have gone on it.
Unfortunately it was out of warranty and we were not really ready to shell out for repairs or replacements? so we brought an extra clothes horse and calculated a bit ...

My old (well 4 years old to be precise) washing machine finally packed in at the start of the year, so off I went to find a replacement and decided to also get rid of the tumble dryer and go for a combined washer/dryer.
After several hours going through the online stores and visiting the local Currys electrical retailer, I finally decided on the Ariston A1400WD - and glad I did!
Firstly I managed to get free delivery and disposal of my old machine from the sales assistant and Currys also had £120 knocked off the price in their sale.
Delivery
Delivery was on a Saturday. I had to phone a national rate number on the Friday night when I would be told a 4 hour slot for delivery. The service wsa easy to use and informed me that it would be between 1pm and 5pm the following day.

Just purchased new W/D & well pleased. This is the third Ariston machine we have purchased & if it lasts as well as the last 2 i will be retiring before having to buy another(45yrs old now).The programmes are so easy to use that even i could work it out.Fast 1400 s/speed gets washing nearly dry to touch.Great options available, economy wash, half load, 30degree, etc....plus big 6kg load.....features that were only present on more expensive makes.It is also very very very quiet.
Only downside was that they had moved the waste hose to the opposite side of the machine so that i had to buy an extension kit to hook up to main waste..
We purchased from Currys online who were the best price & gave free delivery on a date chosen by myself, & even rang the day before as promised on the website to give a time slot ...
