We bought a Margherita 2000 advantage from curry's in the year 2000.It seemed to be a nice model and easy to clean on the outside,and it was the cheapest in store and also suited the fitting measurement .It was the only washing machine at the time we found that was only 53cm deep and therefore fitted perfectly under our wortop in the kitchen.As we expected to pay more, we decided to take out a 5 year warranty on top of the 2 year manufacturer warranty at the time.Therefore we knew that we were safe for at least 7 years.We were glad we did as after the fifth year we experienced problems with the pump.We have the washing machine for 8 years now and we have had it repaired for three times in the last three years.The last time the engineer came out ,he told us that the machine is in need of replacing.Now it has broken down again we have decided to go for a different make (Bosh).Everytime we experienced problems with the machine we had an engineer coming out in the first week,after we rang up to report the problem.We have been send a couple of reminders about our brake down policy running out but never updated it. The filter is hidden behind a plastic cover at floorlevel.We had it accidently broken of due to knocking it during the cleaning of our floor.It kept on falling of ever after.The washing powder storage does get mouldy after such a long time as it does not rinse all the powder and seem to build up on the inside behind the basket..The plastic is not as smooth anymore as it looks like the powder has tarnished it.Overall,we were very happy for the first five years untill the problems started.Bearing in mind that we used it virtually everyday.I think it deserves value for money.It has many options on it,easy to surface clean,1600 spin.But does not last as the older machines used to and is a little noisy when it spins on 1600.
