Drinking a lot of coffee and tea, probably more seriously smoking, has done little to keep my pearly whites looking their best. Over the years such substances have taken there toll, and my teeth are now less pearly white and more a dull yellowy colour, or at least they were.
There are numerous miracle wonders on offer and I have tried many of them to no avail, however a while back my wife after hearing nothing but good vibes about Arm & Hammer bought a tube at our local Poundland, for a very reasonable…………….yep £1. What it did do however was to make a significant improvement in the shade of white my teeth were to look. By this I mean my teeth are not pearly white they are though significantly closer to that shade than they have ever been. They also are a bit less sensitive than previous, although I am not attributing that factor purely down to this toothpaste, but it probably has helped a bit.

On opening the tube for the first time you are as with most toothpastes confronted with a sealed tube. A quick reversal of the lid and a little plunge into the top of the tube and we are ready to get whitening. The paste is slightly thinner than my usual toothpaste and does have a slight tendency to run of the side of the brush a little. A little more haste in the brushing process corrected this minor flaw.
Since this is Bicarbonate of Soda based toothpaste the initial feeling is that of a slight fizz. You can almost feel the ingredients getting to work as soon as they hit your teeth. There is a very strong hint of the bicarb even though the mixture has a very pleasant minty flavour. It is the gums that seem to be getting a little Jacuzzi work out, an odd feeling but strangely enjoyable. My teeth are getting a good clean here I can feel that, but the somewhat unpleasant taste of the bicarb is overpowering the less intensive mint flavour, it is therefore probably a good idea if using this to rinse very well after brushing.
It probably has taken about 3 weeks to see any significant difference in the shade of white of my teeth, but there is definitely an improvement. The question is can I keep up using this since the aftertaste of the bicarb is most certainly an off putting thought when I go to clean my teeth. The answer to this question is probably YES, even if it is just to see if any further improvement is going to occur.
Advantages: Leaves teeth feeling very clean Disadvantages: Paranoia about grinding sound when brushing
...picked up a tube of Arm and Hammer Baking Soda Toothpaste. If ever a product seemed completely in tune with the 1950s then it is Arm and Hammer.
The packaging and design is simple to the extreme, with little regard for overall looks. Primarily white, with a red logo and blue text, the only concession to the 21st century is the typeface. That it tastes and feels like something from 50 years ago comes as no surprise either. The first time I used it ... ...abrasion' of the toothpaste. Apparently Arm and Hammer has half the 'relative' dentine abrasivity of normal leading toothpaste. Interesting. So why do my teeth feel like they've just been scoured with Jif?
So, for that first day I sat at work with my gums feeling like they'd been filed, and my teeth seemingly encased in pebble-dash. The next brushing that evening seemed less terrifying, and despite the odd taste, a sort of minty / grouty combo, ...

Before you use this toothpaste I’ll just give you a few facts, so you know what it’s all about.

Advantages: neutralises acidity, bleaching and whitening effect, cheap Disadvantages: not great taste, doesnt lather bubbles much
Well it's not my favourite but I use it because of the whitening effect and it's cheaper to get hold of.Right I use two toothpaste and do try others sometime,so that I can compare which is better.I have been using this one lately with a colgate freshmint one.

It's also a whitening and bleaching toothpaste offering gentle deep cleaning.I do quite agree with this too.
Low abrasion.
As the tube describes,it's creditted for it's low abrasion. It says witha nice little chart at the back of the tube that by using it you limit dentine(a tooth tissue, under the enamel),yes you limit dentine abrasion to 50% relative to leading regular toothpastes

~The packaging~
White and blue and just like any other tube of toothpaste, simply average!

~The Smell~
Again, nothing unusual, slightly minty! Not unpleasant, not unique.
~The Texture~
At last, something that actually sets this toothpaste apart from most of the others on the market. The texture is slightly abrasive. Presumably this is down to ... ...against your teeth, quite literally rubbing the top layer away. Removing the top layer of stained enamel, leaving you with cleaner looking teeth. To be honest, it was not a particularly nice feeling, a bit like scratching your fingernails down a black board. Still, it was not bad enough to stop me using the paste and it is after all, the way this toothpaste removes stains. So, not pleasant, but necessary for it to work.

Advantages: Cleans teeth with fresh minty taste and no foam Disadvantages: Can be hard to find
About 12 months ago my local Somerfield store closed down and there went my only local supplier of Arm & HammerBakingSodaToothpaste ? Freshmint Gel. I was devastated. But last week I found my saviour ? my new and improved Wilko?s store had it in!! I was so pleased I decided to tell you why I love it.
Arm & Hammer are an American company, a division of Church Dwight & Co for those of you who like to know. They produce a toothpaste that has bakingsoda in as a cleaning and polishing ingredient. The two types they make are original coolmint and freshmint gel. Whilst my husband likes the original I find I don?t like the taste so I use the freshmint gel. The freshmint gel comes in 2 sizes 50ml and 100ml. The 50ml size cost me £0.85 from Wilkinsons. Each tube is green and white with the Arm & Hammer symbol ? urrmm and arm ...
do both jobs fairly well but taste so revolting that they are almost unusable. Well, as toothpaste, that is!
But then there is mint flavoured Arm & Hammer Sensitive Toothpaste, with BakingSoda! Not only does this rapidly start to deal with the problems of sensitive, painful teeth, it also deals remarkable well with the actual cleaning of your teeth, as well.
I would swear that I can feel the particles of "dental grade bakingsoda" working on the surfaces of your teeth as an exceptionally effective and kind dentifrice. The taste of bakingsoda might take a little time to get used to, but the benefits of having non-sensitive and sparkling clean teeth is worth a couple of times of using it far outweigh the taste of bakingsoda.
Even though I use a good quality electric toothbrush, I have still had to have my teeth scraped ...
