LEYLAND SITE LANCASHIRE - Purchased a 54 plate Audi A3 with 30K on the clock in very good condition on a part ex. After the usual salesman chat the figures were agreed and in the agreement an early MOT, full service and valet. Also purchased the additional service package on the premise that for two years I would get full service and MOT's.
Bought the car part exchanged mine and got into my Audi with a poor valet, no service and no ... ...MOT" I pointed out (raised voice and finger pointing) that the agreement was for service and MOT so I don't really care if you think it needs doing or not. Finally they relented and it was booked in. Got to the garage handed my car over and they said we don't do courtesy cars in the first 30 days. Long story short I got a courtesy car but had to pay for my own insurance. Car ready at close of business, MOT complete so well done finally. No service ... more

The explanation "IT DOESN'T NEED A SERVICE or MOT" I pointed out (raised voice and finger pointing) that the agreement was for service and MOT so I don't really care if you think it needs doing or not. Long story short I got a courtesy car but had to pay for my own insurance. Car ready at close of business, MOT complete so well done finally. No service -refuse to do one as it is not due according to the service computer (I again don't care, the agreement was for a service) 3 e-mails and 3 phone calls from, sales manager to area manager and I'm told heads will roll (mmm really) and that essentially I can kiss my pay out for insurance good bye as I chose the courtesy car and should have toddled around the local supermarket all day like a good little boy (5 and a half hours). Ridiculous service - I also find out that the service package does not cover MOT's but does give you a discount.
Not somewhere I wish to deal with on a regular basis and my advice keep your car keys or money until the car has been thoroughly checked on day of purchase.
Fast response to complaints they just don't listen or do anything about them though.

...head office for a certain time to get the deal and it all backfired on me. I haved an extra 6 months on my loan and not the car I thought I was buying!!!!
Would I recommend Arnold Clark to anyone - NOT unless you are paying cash! ...

Advantages: Prices Disadvantages: Customer Service / Competence
Very briefly, part ex 2 cars for a Maxda RX8. Had a cherished number plate so planned to collect car a week after purchase. Kept ringing to find our new reg no but they never rang back (after I left at least 8 messages). When the guy did finally ring it was to say we could not collect car and it would be the following week providing the log book with the new reg came through. I kept ringing all week, again got no response to my calls. Contacted Head ... ...were finally told we could collect the car.
Great, you may think , but no, the problems have only just begun!!! Driving along, spotted tax disc slipping off window so had a look and there it was, tax disc for a completely different car! Went straight back and our "really helpful" saleman said he would contact the other driver. 5 days later and upteen calls later, I am still waiting for this to be rectified.
DON'T USE THEM....THEIR COMMUNICATION ...

Purchased a 54 plate Picasso on part ex from AC Leyland. Salesman agreed to rectify all dents and scratches, replace missing trim, valet etc. Before collecting asked salesman if all was complete - he assured me all the jobs we had discussed were done. When we picked up car (in the dark and the rain) nothing had been done and the car was filthy. Salesman apologised and said he would collect car from me and have work done. He eventually picked it up ... ...I phoned him, he told me all was done and I could collect the following morning.
Collected the following day, half of work not done, was told they never had any intention of doing it and then charged for courtesy car!
Would I recommend this shower - absolutely NOT. Do not go within a million miles of these sharks. ...
