There are also rumours of an American, Deitrich Mateschitz taking over and basing the team in America instead of England. Dietrich Mateschitz is the chairman of the Red Bull group and it is thought ... ...exciting. Tom Walkinshaw, the Arrows boss, says this is pure speculation and the rumours are not true. I hope so.
The Arrows haven't had a very good season this year. With just one race to go the team have just one championship point. Only Minardi have done worse. I think this is down to the cars as they have had a lot of engine failures and not very many race finishes. Hopefully, the new engines will change all this.

There are also rumours of an American, Deitrich Mateschitz taking over and basing the team in America instead of England. Dietrich Mateschitz is the chairman of the Red Bull group and it is thought that he would use the team to promote Red Bull in the states. They would get rid of the drivers they have now and replace them with American drivers. I think that this would not be good for the team. American drivers would be recruited from the Cart series which is where drivers race on all oval tracks. Although it is possible to find good f1 drivers from the cart series (for instance J P Montoya) it is rare, so they are likely to get inferior drivers. All oval circuits are not good preparation for f1 circuits which are more exciting. Tom Walkinshaw, the Arrows boss, says this is pure speculation and the rumours are not true. I hope so.

The two Arrows drivers this season are Enrique Bernoldi and Jos Verstappen. Jos has been in f1 since 1994 and it is Enrique's first season in f1. Despite this Enrique has been out-qualifying Jos regularly on tracks he has never been to before. Jos often gets a quicker start but this is because the team like to run him on a two stop strategy with Enrique on a one stop. He usually gains a few positions early on but never makes up enough time to make the two stop strategy work. Enrique is good at not letting people people overtake him once he has position. In the last race he had 5 superior cars behind him who just couldn't get past, and didn't until he pitted. Jos has a contract to drive for Arrows next season but they still haven't given Enrique one. If I was the Arrows boss I personally would have signed Bernoldi for another season and let Jos go.
Other drivers who have been linked with Arrows for next season. There is Heinz-Harold Frentzen who currently drives for the Prost team, but he would probably be able to get a drive in a faster car than the Arrows. There is also Alonso who drives for Minardi and has had an impressive first seaon in f1. All this is just speculation and Arrows are yet to sign a second driver for next season.
Advantages: Rising starrs of Formula one Disadvantages: may disappoint
Arrows have had a long history in formula one, they were set up in 1977 but major success has eluded them, this was all set to change in 1996 when Tom Walkinshaw took the team over. The dream however did not come true, as arrows have continued to under perform as a formula 1 team. They seem to be just there to make the numbers up, filling some of the back grid positions. They did briefly have some success when Damon Hill lead the Hungarian grand ... ...Vestapan. Now it seems that Arrows can finally take on the Big Boys and win (well perhaps finish in the top six). They have consistently performed well in all the races especially in Germany just recently what is holding them back is the reliability of the cars. In my view this year is just a practice run for the team and next year with the continued financial support from Orange I think that Arrows will be competing with the likes of Williams and ...

RE: The austrian Grad Prix.
Orange Arrows, especially this weekend, didn't deserve to fail on mechanical (gearbox) breakdown this weekend. Whilst many believed that Predro de La Rosa's 3rd was because of a two stop stratagy, they were on a 1 stop, like everyone else. Predro was losing ground to the Maclarens but wasn't losing much to the Ferrari of Barrachello.
They certainly have one of the fastest straight line sppeds and look set to have a good ...

Are arrows the suprise of the season? It can only be a matter of time until they start scoring regularly. If De la Rosa had some more experience and the engine had just held on the other week in Austria they were looking good for a high points finish. I think that the pieces are falling into place now for a great team if the drivers can get a good pair of drivers. Verstappen will surely be out of a job at the end of the season. He has driven for ...

Advantages: good technology, very fast straight line Disadvantages: breaking, second tier drivers, bad luck
It seems like Arrows are finally starting to make an impact. After scoring a huge chunk of cash, £70m, from mobile phone company Orange, things are beginning to happen for them. The start of the season seems to be littered with bad luck. Hopefully that'll change after Hockenheim were Pedro de la Rosa scored his second point for the team, and they moved to 8th place in the constructor's championship. The cars straight line speed at Hockenheim was ... ...Maclarens and Ferraris. Hopefully work on the overall handling will put the cars closer to the front of the grid.
The Orange sponsorship has also brought about some other benefits, you can keep track of what's happening during the race with loads of race info from:

Advantages: Reasonably good driver pairings.Increased funding Disadvantages: Still not the richest team around.
The British-based Arrows team have had a lengthy period in the doldrums since they were a poorly funded team and despite producing attractive race cars they were not deemed competitive. They were regularly expected to be among the back markers with the likes of the Minardi team.Even getting a point would be considered an achievement.
It is now beginning to look as though there is light at the end of the tunnel for the hugely popular Oxfordshire-based ... ...the Arrows got a very good fifth place at the Canadian grand prix. Jos Verstappen driving a very good race to collect two valuable points. Their other driver Pedro De La Rosa looks to have a good future and these two drivers as a pair are good enough to win more points, providing the team can increase their reliability. The time may not be too far off when Arrows will be a mid order team. ...

Advantages: Great!Fantastic record of GP wins, very pasionate about driving, a top driver. Disadvantages: Controversial driving on occasions. Quite arrogant!
regarding deliberate unfair and unsporting like driving but it was on both driver's fault, but Schumacher still won.
This season though, there is nothing that can be taken away from Schumacher - this season I feel he is a worthy champion, and has brought the whole of Italy a very proud feeling indeed. They love him in Italy, and it was evident that Michael felt emotional when he finally won the Italian Grand Prix this season when he broke down in tears. This race was full of incident, and his win, although thoroughly deserved and applauded, was somewhat over shadowed by the tragic death of a marshal who had been hit by a tyre from a catapulting Arrows.
Murray Walker feels that Schumacher is the best driver, and nearly always makes a comment about this. Quite frankly, I find this annoying because it seems whatever Michael does he gets ...

Advantages: Read and take heed: my account of Adult Education in IT! Disadvantages: Disadvantages - um, the loss of sanity experienced by this poor unsuspecting adult perhaps?
suddenly told that if the fire alarm went off for more than half a minute, it meant there was a fire and we had to go to one place, but if it was a bomb we had to go somewhere else (we had to go and congregate beside the church, I wonder why? If you’ve found out after 30 seconds that it is a fire or a bomb… you might not really need to worry, you’d probably be all over the place.)
Yes, right. We then were taught something really marvellous…. That on the keyboard there are two keys with arrows on. Honestly!
We were allowed, in what turned out to be one hour left of the lesson, to touch those Two Keys. Unfortunately I made the serious mistake of touching the second one twice, to see what might happen. The Tutor came fussingly up to my shoulders and leaned over “You touched the key, didn’t you?” ...
