Earn, Learn and Get Published with Poetry.com Advantages: user-friendly site, fair, informative, many earning opportunities, full of good ideas Disadvantages: none so far ...of submitting poems in there, poetry.com sent me a snailmail offering me a good opportunity. They want my poem to be published in their book and be narrated. I was really happy. And besides, every writer has an equal chance of winning a contest. Sissix die cutting and how it changed my cards Advantages: easy to use safe for kids and makes cheap card toppers Disadvantages: weight but not totally impractical for going places I have owned this machine for two years, I cannot bein to say how simple it is to use You mply layer you card or choice of material with the die ontop of te cutting board and push under the weighted part of the machine, lowe the handle to the cushion pad repeating this til you have covered the whole die then you lift off the die and there is you shape, with some different materials and colours you can build a whole father christmas head and you can ... ...raised effect. I have used many different brands of dies on it which are often cheaper than the original brand and just as good. TROIKA POTTERY ST IVES CORNWALL Advantages: Paid for a few family holidays Disadvantages: Flog It featured it a year too early TROIKA POTTERY. If you watch programs such as FLOG IT you can not have failed to have seen TROIKA POTTERY featured. The pity is that when it started to be featured my days as a collector were numbered , as the prices climbed faster than a Gecko up a hot Mediterrainian Wall. The TROIKA POTTERY was founded in St Ives Cornwall in 1963. It was named TROIKA as it was founded by three people who each put £1000 in. Leslie Illsley, Benny Sirota and Jan ... ...was to be useful with Troika Pottery as many Pieces would later be produced using Moulds. Sirota had had approx 80 jobs, one of which happened to be a Potter, again would be useful. Jan Thompson had been an Architect. Thompson was a bit of a sleeping partner and it was Illsley and Sirota who decided to concentrate on the distinctive moulded shapes, and developed the Rough Textured wares and also smooth white surfaces. Aqua Sweetie, Aqua! Advantages: Easy to use - Good Results Disadvantages: Hard To Find I discovered aquacolor crayons when doing my evening art class last year. There nestled in the box of materials was this tin of crayons which, as every other inconsiderate swine had nabbed all the 'good stuff' I found I was left with. As it turns out it was the turning point of my artistry usage. (Ooh get me!) I haven't done any art work since I left school about 13 years ago, where does the time go? I started feeling a huge loss of identity when ... ...last year when I erupted, chasing all my loved ones screaming for the hills and I found myself hastily enrolled in an art class to 'channel my creative fury'. Best UK Graffiti Art Magazine Advantages: Well presented, Very comprehensive, easy to navigate Disadvantages: There can sometimes be a long wait between issues due to the work involved in producing it. The URL of the site reviewed here is http://www.graffiti.org/dj/n-igma/ n-igma is an online magazine published every couple of months which covers graffiti art all over the UK. Held on the www.graffiti.org archive of world-wide graffiti sites, This is the best presented and the most comprehensive magazine to cover the UK. With every issue there are hundreds of new photographs representing the graffiti activities of many "writers" over several weeks. ... ...On the site you will find lots of legal murals, which in my opinion usually represent the most creativity and talent. I'm sure many people will go to the site and just look for the huge murals or "burners" as they are known. Another side of graffiti is the illegal side where writers paint trains and public buildings, tracksides etc...
