Advantages: Being creative Disadvantages: possible rejection
I have been into creative writing since I was 16 years old. I wrote poetry and short stories and never did anything with them except keep them in a notebook and keep adding more. I tried to develop a style that was my own but it took many years to do that. My style has been labelled as "salt of the earth" Many people have a problem putting their thoughts down. I write now as if some one was sitting across the table from me and we were chatting over ......the best you can and then re-work it until it comes out the way you want. I feel anyone that can talk and think can write. Practice by writing as much as you can every chance you get and you will see your style developing. Never try to write the way some one else does. Now you need to get your writing out and get some feedback on it. I write on review sites at the moment just to keep in practice but find I do not write in the same way as I would ... Read review

...the advent of the Internet, creative writing was a thankless task and really you had little option but to write constantly to publishers and/or contact newspapers and magazines pleading for a chance to shake your thang in public. Nowadays, however, things have changed significantly and there are loads of ways to force your little works of art on an unsuspecting public. Anyone reading this article will, of course, have sussed one of those ways immediately, ......no reason why the good creative writer should not have an outlet for his interest. I regularly write opinions for Dooyoo as well and the challenge of trying to keep two accounts up and running with good opinions is a constantly exciting one. Of course, there is an even easier way to get the wisdom of Solomon out of your head and into the faces of people and that's by building your own website and using it to get your writing into the biggest market ... ...this got to do with creative writing you may well ask? Well it was my love of books and the written word that made me want to be able to write. I wanted to be the creator of adventures, the magic maker if you like. I wanted to know how to take a character and make them come to life in the same way that they did in my storybooks. I was going to be a writer, one day…one day. I went through school not a particularly bright child but because I loved ......2. Be as creative as you want, you don’t need to stick by the rules, its not called creative writing for nothing. If you want to write about an underwater world where dogs drive cars then do it, it’s your story! 3. If writing a children’s story don’t get bogged down with details. Children are naturally blessed with overactive imaginations and too much attention to detail will just bore them. Believe me if there are any gaps they will fill them in ... Read review

...off..I guess I am a creative writer with perhaps a touch of the mood swings but I write to suit myself and no one else…. I like to sit by the screen and just think of a topic or if I hit a blank I go to the latest 25 opinions and just pick one. I once bet a fellow member I could get 40 reads on any topic, she asked me to hit 40 reads on Bingo, needless to say I did, thanks to you lot of course. Anyway once I have a topic in my head I start ......style. Instead I took the creative approach and put myself in the chair and I was pleased with how that story ended.. A good creative writer has a style to their writing, and there are a few good writers with style on the Ciao site. The two writers I always look out for are Trampus and Purdy. Now both these writers are very different and it is for that reason I make sure I never miss one of their opinions. Trampus has a certain way of creating her ... Read review

I have, in my travels, found some excellent sites, on the internet, for writers and all of us wannabes out there. I am always receiving requests for more information, so decided to go ahead and actually write a piece and give you a lot of it, here in an article. The best advice I can give you is to go to the various sites, and check them out, to see if they give you what you are looking for. If they do, grat, you can bookmark the site for future ......that's ok, too. We all have different expectations, and different needs to help us in our writing careers. One of the best sites is "Writer's Digest" magazine (that many of us are familiar with on the newstands). It's site at: www.writersdigest.com has all manner of resources for those of us who love to write. They even do online classes. Take your time, there is a lot to see on this site. For those of us who want to get published in book form, ... Read review
