London College of Fashion
Review of London College of Fashion by Wing

Advantages: Free form teaching
Disadvantages: No university experience

...outside of UCAS : The London College of Fashion. I thought that it would give me everything that a conventional university wouldn't, so instead of going to Bristol or Durham which I probably should have, I made a somewhat " distinguished" choice, I guess you could say. The London College of Fashion is part of the London Institute ( which is comprised of 5 art schools ). It has 2 main grounds, Oxford Circus and Bond St., and 1 smaller one, just behind ...
...called Fashion Promotion that didn't require the use of full on studios, I spent most of my time at the Bond St one. At first glance, the school looks rather quaint. The street has a subtle and understated character to it and if you didn't know that the large No. 65 denoted the school's location, you could have happily walked past without really knowing it was there. Once inside though, it's revealed for what it really is. the building doesn't really ... Read review

...didn't feel at home in London in general. This doesn't mean it won't be the place for you however! The college is very artsy, not at all like a traditional university, so if a campus uni is what you're after then run away, run away now! However, if you're searching for something a little different, LCC is a great place. There are so many interesting people milling around, some fantastically dressed art students - don't forget that this is what LCC ...
...a city as huge as London is. Also, I personally felt as if I missed out on the whole Freshers, getting to know people thing due to not having any contact with university life outside the course. In halls, however, everyone talks to everyone, and the fact that you’re all in the same situation means that even if you don’t get on with certain people, the laws of probability say you’re bound to find others to make friends with. I know plenty of people ... Read review

Winning Wimbledon
Review of Wimbledon School of Art by SAXYAMY

Advantages: Great atmosphere, quality tuition, great location...
Disadvantages: If you want a typical "uni" atmosphere this is not the place for you

...3rd Year BA(Hons) student at Wimbledon School of Art studying Fine Art;Painting so i appologise if this review is slightly biased but i love the place! However, i will try to be objective as possible! I also studied for my foundation diploma at Wimbledon so i guess that is a good place to start. The Foundation course offers you the chance to choose from a range of artistic practises - Painting, Sculpture, Fashion, 3D design, Graphic design, Photography ...
...to the local cafes. Wimbledon foundation students find it very easy to get onto BA courses at the major London Art Schools. In my year in Painting there were people going to Goldsmiths, Chelsea, St Martins - Two even got into The Slade. A few of us loved Wimbledon so much that we applied to stay on and do our BA's there aswell. 6 of us got accepted onto the Painting BA course. The main school it'self is in Merton Hall Rd and has recently been ... Read review

Advantages: Only art college in the area, friendly atmosphere, lots of courses.

...interested to know anything about Central Saint Martins with all the knowledge that I know about this Art college. The London Institute, or the now more well known name of University of the Arts London is comprised of 6 distinguished colleges. They are: Camberwell college of Art and Design Central St Martins College of Art and Design (CSM) Chelsea College of Art and Design. London College of Fashion (LCF) London College of Printing / London ...
...close to the heart of Central London, making you being in reach of basically anything you need. I am going to try and give my most unbiased opinion of this college if I may... Personally, I was just so ever excited about going there simply because it's very well-known, come on, anyone would like to have a bit of recognition having said 'I went to Central Saint Martins' even if it was only for a year; it still looks good on your CV. The foundation ... Read review
