small handful, this was the firm favourite. We also had to have an Arthur day once a fortnight with activities based on the books to promote the characters. Again, we used Arthur In A Pickle for this a lot because it’s an easy one to give quizzes on and make up games for.
It gets 4 stars as a compromise - I'd give it 3, but the kids really did love it, and getting them excited about reading has to be the most important thing.

When my local library was having a clear out of books I noticed this one for sale at 40p price on it when new is £2.99p. I bought it to add to Adrian’s ever-growing library. (I think it’s suitable for a 4/5 year old till 6/7)
There are several books about Arthur and his exploits. I believe Arthur is an Aardvaac the characters in this book are a variety of anthropomorphic animals with a few humans.
