My daughter is disappointed

Advantages: It looks lovely and sounds fun
Disadvantages: It just doesn't work

My brother bought this machine for my daughter for christmas 2004. She was delighted with it and i have to admit i thought it sounded like fun. How wrong could i be? Putting the machine together is easy enough, and i thought we were on to a good thing! Then i realised the chocolate had to be grated, so i stood for half an hour grating enough chocolate to go in to the chamber. "Don't use boiling water, only warm from the tap". "Ok," i thought, ...
...the chamber and i filled the outside with warm tap water, then there is a handle to pull up and turn, thus stirring the chocolate in the chamber which is supposed to take about 10 minutes to melt. 10 minutes later, the chocolate was not melted. 15 minutes later, still not melted. So, i say "lets tip out the water, which is now cold and i'll put boiling water in from the kettle". I do this and 10 minutes later the chocolate is still not melted. ...

Is yours slushy?

Advantages: kids enjoy making slush
Disadvantages: does not make slush properly

Advantages: Children can make their own milkshakes
Disadvantages: Have to be a bit careful with the motor

Not so Smoothie

Advantages: Safe to use
Disadvantages: Needs a lot more power to liquidise the fruit

My daughter was given one of these for Christmas after “begging” for one. What a disappointment! There we were, Christmas day, and my daughter was really excited. She’d been asking for a Smoothie maker for the 6 months prior to Christmas, and knowing she was getting this, we had plenty of fruit to hand. Ready Steady cook Popcorn Maker

Advantages: Makes popcorn
Disadvantages: Takes much too long

Well thought we would get this for our grandaughter now in hindsight I am not sure that it was such a good idea. Well it do make popcorn that is a fact but what it dont tell you is it takes about 45 minutes to make a tiny dish. This is an attractive model by no means but dont think it will keep the kids happy due to them getting so bored while waiting for the popcorn to arrive.
