Good for starting actors, my experience was successful using it
Advantages: A wide range of scripts, male and female, and young to old Disadvantages: there isnt much information given about the play before, so do your own research!
...do a duologue, i did the wrong thing and not research the plays background but still i managed to get an A because the plays in here are very good ones. I think possibly the best of the best duologues are in here. The one i used 'Split down the middle', is extremely funny if performed properly. I find its too easy to judge whether something is funny or not, when rehearsal i found it pretty daft and that we'd get a bad reception. But it turned out ... ...Also, i found that the duologues don't require any props as there is enough information given in the script to divert the attention away. I was suppose to be in a boat for mine, but i was sat on a chair, and no one cared! There is a variety of duologues from young to old, and a good share in male and female pieces. It has encouraged me to want to get other methuen books. ...

...later he had it returned. The thoughts and concepts of being so simple with design really opens your mind to thinking differently about everyday objects, this collection of Alan Flectcher's work is just a retrospective of all his excellant ideas, i would be satisfied with a book just on his average ideas, this man seems to be able to think outside his mind and think about other people's too.
The layout of this book, the order, the colours within ...

Does pretty much what it says on the tin.
Advantages: Gives beginners confidence. Good value. Your drawing will improve. Disadvantages: Will take patience to achieve good results.
Do you think you are rubbish at drawing? Do your attempts at artwork look as if they could be have been done by the local primary school? If so, this book is for you.
It is written in a friendly, easy to read and approachabe style. The author points out straight away that we all have the skill necessary to write the alphabet and that all the pictures in this book utilise the same basic strokes. If we persist in thinking that we can't do something, ... ...block. The author encourages us to think positively about improving our drawing skills and leads us through progressively more difficult examples.
The blurb at the back of the book claims that "in no time at all you will be an expert" - in fact Linley makes it clear that it is only through practice and dedication that this can be achieved. However, anyone has the ability to draw realistic artwork.
What is really impressive is the scope of the book ...

bringing churches to light
Advantages: the most comprehensive church guide Disadvantages: a weighty tome
Churches to most people are a place where you used to have to go as a child as part of school or cub scout activities or occasionally attend a wedding or a funeral, all of which seems just a necessary evil to be endured.
This book tries to show you that there are more to churches than the ceremonies of hatching, matching and despatching. It is a massive work of over eight hundred pages and acts mainly as a work of reference, and tries to present ... ...The book starts with an overview of the development of church building, the styles and techniques, then lists his proposed 100 favourite churches from the following text and rounds off with a glossary of architectual terms. The bulk of the book is then a county by county list of his favourite churhes, each listing being about 500 words. Considering the book covers 1000 listings there is enough information regarding the history and character of each. ...
