A Glittering Success
Review of Dreams That Glitter: Our Story - Girls Aloud by
mummy2harry
Advantages: Fun to read, lots of pictures, good quality book
Disadvantages: None unless you don't like Girls Aloud
...their rise to fame entitled Dreams That Glitter.
Before really knowing anything about the book, I thought it was going to be a standard type auto-biography book with a big chunk written by each girl about their childhood, Pop Stars experience and their life in Girls Aloud so far. Well, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I was very wrong when I got the book home. Instead, the book is split up into sections which all the girls contribute ... ...to each girl dotted through the book with a bit about their childhood, and their general attitude. The format seemed quite fun, and I thought this was a clever ploy to keep readers interested, and it certainly worked on me!
When you open the book, you'll find that it isn't the normal sort of hardback book, instead the pages are thick glossy paper all the way through, with lovely photos of all the girls used throughout, many of which are taken from ...

My Booky Wook is like a Hook!!!!
Review of My Booky Wook - Russell Brand by
christinat
Advantages: fascinating read
Disadvantages: hard to understand his play with words sometimes
My Booky Wook is Russel Brand's autobiography and goes into detail about his life to date, It would be an understatement to say that Russell has lived a very eventful life, there can be no doubting that. He has been brave enough to publish some of the most personal of experiences which in itself I believe deserves recognition. I don't think I could ever bare my soul in the way Russell has, let alone make it half as entertaining as he has here. Russel ... ...say that he has opened my eyes a lot as to what happens on the streets of central London that we are all oblivious to.
Russel shows a genuine care for every living person and animal, from high profile celebrities to OAP's to the homeless. If everybody cared about humanity as much as he declares he does in his book then this world would be a much better place to live! whether its all true is another matter but i like to believe it is.
He has proved ...

It is the type of book that everyone who is serious about taking their acting career to the next level should invest in. Unfortunately due to circumstances I am too late to go to drama school in London. I have a house the other end of ... ...one day I will get a break though I know it won't be possible right now to go to drama school in London. Woss' Wead is Witty!
Review of Why Do I Say These Things? - Jonathan Ross by
sewbizzie
Advantages: Good funny book
Disadvantages: Not a biography
...has found himself in and why he sometimes does the silly thing he does. I did persevere with the book and was pleasantly surprised as I found it very good. The book is split into 14 chapters and each of them has a very witty title and only gives away a small bit about what hen might be going to tell us about next. Some of the things which he does tell us about include the time he was starting out in his career and found himself filming a documentary ... ...to eat some dodgy food and ended up with the worst runs and sickness of his life, he used some tablets which were in his emergency first aid kit which a friend had made up for him and he ended up taking the date rape drug and being only semi-conscious for the following few days. This story he refers to as the time he date raped himself. As we move through the book he does talk quite a lot about the early stages of his career and how he tried out ...
