Ascom AM2048

The AM2048 broadband xDSL modem is the most advanced in the comprehensive range of AM-series baseband modems. AM-series modems are designed to deliver high-speed data across telecommunications networks. A wide range of modems and modules means a product is available to suit all applications, whether it's connecting LANs using integrated routers or connecting remote offices PBX over leased lines. Using the latest line coding techniques, the AM2048 has the ability to use either one or two twisted copper pairs to drive data at rates up to 2Mbps. Multiple programmable transmission line rates have also been added. This means the AM2048 is suitable for lower data rate applications where greater distances may be required. In addition the standalone unit may optionally be remote powered from the new SNMP managed AM2048 Rack system. The AM2048 with its comprehensive test, diagnostic and alarm reporting capabilities requires no extra test equipment for commissioning. Integral line fault sensing circuitry allows prioritized timeslot switching on line failure in point to point mode. This, coupled with line degradation performance monitoring, enables improved QoS and minimizes downtime.
