...When we first started looking at buying our own home,6 years ago having rented for a year and felt that we were throwing money down the drain, we asked around for the name of a financial advisor, feeling that one referred by word of mouth must be a good one. How wrong we were!
The man duly came and set out his stall and was very nice and very helpful showing us all our options, we were very young and inexperienced regarding mortgages. It is a potential mine field if you don't know what you are doing!
He found us what appeared to be a great mortage that gave us a discount for 3 years, after which we could change it either to another discount plan with the same lender or to another building socitey with no penalty charge incurred....so we thought then anyway!
Everything went swimmingly the house was bought, and the mortgage payments...

...Every time I phone up this bank, I am greeted by a warm, friendly voice, usually with a Scottish accent, and this just inspires me to give them money.
The bank was recommended to me by a relative who is an Independent Financial Advisor, and I am so glad that he did. This band is always sending me information on changes to the interest rates, new services and things like that, but in a way that isn't imposing. They normally give you a letter at the front telling you what the important bits are and so you can judge for yourself. It's like giving you those bits of paper in the chocolates that tell you which ones you'll like and which ones you won't.
The people you talk to on the phone are great and you can make you transactions with no difficulty at all. The website is also the most reliable bank website I have seen, given that my brother...
