Think I'd have preferred the scabby horse!!!
Review of Asda Beef Curry with Rice by pennywa

Advantages: Quick to prepare, really cheap
Disadvantages: Stringy chewy meat, not much in the pack,

My exams start next week and I went out with a load of mates last night to 'celebrate'. We all got slightly (or very, in my case) inebriated and when I rolled in the back door at around 12.30am this morning I was so starved I could have eaten a scabby horse. I really was in too much of a state to faff around making anything which took too much concentration so was really pleased when I found some Asada microwavable ready meals. Mum had bought a pile ...
...stop to choose any one in particular - I just needed food, and FAST, so I grabbed the one at the top of the pile from the freezer drawer, quickly scanned the 'cooking instructions' and popped it into the microwave for ten minutes on 'high' and waited for the ping. I then rushed to the loo, quickly put my PJ's on and by that time the meal was almost ready. The instructions said that after ten minutes I had to remove it from the microwave, stir and ... I've had better things in my mouth - part 2
Review of Asda Beef Curry with Rice by bandcamp

Advantages: cheap, no artifical stuff, easy to 'cook'
Disadvantages: calories, only edible when slightly inebri...inebrre...drunk.

...from scratch' bandcamp in 'eats Asda ready meal' shocker! + THE STORY + Wheesht, I'm still a bit pissed from last night (evidence that God does in fact love me and wants me to be happy, otherwise I'd have to spend more money on booze) and I think a hangover might be imminent so I need to eat something and this, by jove, is the quickest. Plus, in my defence, I didn't even want to buy the sodding thing anyway, the Boyfriend insisted after he sneaked ...
...naturally, since it was 6 frozen ready meals for £4 (I know, it used to be 5 for £4 or 5 for £3.50 or something) we had to get 5 other of the pesky things. Now, the mild chicken curry one I've had before and it was a bit of a let down so I'm leaving that one well alone. The fish pie is gone (was okay, probably stick with Young's in future), the Boyfriend had the korma (which smelled totally rank, by the way), I think I had the sweet and sour one ... Read review

It's not the same anymore *sigh*
Review of Asda Beef Curry with Rice by derbychick

Advantages: lovely taste, easy to cook, moist rice
Disadvantages: meat should be how it was before the change

I used to eat these all the time, bad I know but they were surprisingly filling! I lived with my boyfriend and his dad for 2 years and his dad did the shopping and being the tight btard he is he'd get 6 of these for £4 and think it was enough of a meal. Or so I thought before I tried one. Oh my God they were gorgeous, UNTIL they changed the beef from sumptuous cubes of reformed meat to fattty stringy lumps. I've always been against reformed meat ...
...I'd mix it all together and eat the rice first and the meat last (who doesn't do that eh?) Then I had one that was stringy and had lumps of fat on them. I could have cried as I loved them before. Not to be put off I had another the next day thinking it was just the one meal that was bad, but that was the same. I haven't had one since and i don't think i ever will again, unless they change the formula back to how it was. They are easy to cook though ... Read review
