I spotted this on sale at my local Asda and thought I would give it a try. I was hoping it would be similar to a couple of my favourite Spanish brandies I like to take around midday with a small, very strong cafe solo ( only when I'm on my holidays, of course!!). I must admit to being quite disappointed. On opening the bottle there is the usual aroma of caramel but in this case it seems to have been mixed with a hint of sherry vinegar and a dirty ashtray. On tasting I found it to have the same effect on the way down as I would imagine drinking watery napalm to have, it burns like hell ! I do not recommend drinking it neat, but must admit that taking it with ice and coke, lemonade or ginger ale it becomes very palatable and after the first three, very palatable, ha ha ha. It is on sale for about 8.50 for a 70 cl bottle which I find to be expensive , perhaps 7.50 would be a more agreeable price. It is now being sold in a new shaped bottle, shorter and fatter, which is more attractive than the old longer thinner bottle. I f only they would improve the contents or better still sell more varieties of Spanish brandy and at a price nearer to Spanish prices.
