Bizarrely, having written a few ready meal ops here a fortnight or so ago I kinda started feeling a little guilty at my laziness and actually went out of my way to do some proper cooking for a change. Old habits die hard though and when my local supermarket had a bogof on various microwave meals the temptation was too much to resist (and the novelty had worn off) so the boxes and packets returned once more...and this one made me feel a little less ... ...it is low in fat as well as being lower in salt and sugar than other similar products. It's a good enough argument when you were already looking for an excuse...
~What It Is~ Well, the box describes it as "Marinated chicken breast pieces in a light, creamy tikka sauce, served with turmeric basmati rice" which sums it up better than I can. It's a meal for one, which can either be microwaved in between 7-8 minutes or oven cooked in around 35 minutes ...

...As many of you know Dave, my partner, works as an IT consultant and as such travels all over the UK with his job. Usually it is easy enough to organise his meals as he either arrives home at a reasonable time or he eats out at the firm’s expense.
Just occasionally he arrives home late in the evening and needs something to eat but obviously not a huge meal, as it is nearly bedtime. He also doesn’t want me to be bothered cooking at that time of night either, bless him.
It was with this in mind that I was looking in Asda for ready meals that could be microwaved whatever time he arrived home. I also wanted to find something that wasn’t too high in calories so that our healthy eating plan wouldn’t go out of the window.
