Advantages smell is ok as long as you don't get close up
Disadvantages drying to hands
I bought this hand wash in ASDA. Although there were branded products on offer at the same price, I was attracted to this one as the front of the bottle said it contained cocoa butter and Shea butter, which are both ingredients I tend to like, both for their scent and their moisturising properties.
The hand wash comes in a clear bottle with a black pump dispenser that can be twisted to lock in place. The front of the bottle has a sort of African looking pattern and you can see how much is left, which I like. The product is actually an ASDA own brand product, but there is not a large ASDA logo – in fact they have just subtly printed ‘exclusively for ASDA’ at the bottom.
The back of the bottle says ‘inspired by the beauty traditions of Kenyan women, each one of these sensual products is enriched with natural ingredients chosen to nurture and restore your natural balance.’
The first thing I noticed about this product when I came to use it, was that it was much thinner than the previous hand wash I had been using. That’s not to say it was runny, just not as thick as I would have liked.
The smell of the hand wash is OK, although not as nice as I would perhaps have hoped from the description on the front of the bottle. It smells mainly of cocoa butter – a sort of mild chocolatey scent - but this is quite subtle. I have found that it is not a good idea to hold your hands to your nose, because close up it has a rather strong chemical fragrance. Once you’ve actually rinsed this off, the smell does linger on the hands for some time.
The hand wash lathers up quite well and one pump is enough to get my hands clean. The main downside for me is that this hand wash leaves my hands feeling quite dried out. I tend to suffer with dry skin on my hands anyway, but this product worsens the problem quite significantly. It actually leaves my hands feeling quite scratchy and in some cases sore. I have left it in the bathroom, but my fiancé tends to use it more than I do as he’s got rhino skin and it doesn’t seem to affect him!
A 300ml bottle of this product costs £1 from ASDA or online at www.asda.co.uk
Overall I would not recommend this hand wash. It smells OK – as long as you don’t get too close up, but the fact it is so drying is a huge downside I cannot overlook, so I won’t be buying it again and would not recommend it.

I've got the green version of this and it smells much nicer (a fresh clean scent) - luckily I don't find it at all drying though which is a bonus!
