I shop at asda because it is only 2 minutes walk away from my home, so it is my local store and there is no more supermarkets around. As I drive into the carpark I can see there are not alot of spaces available, apart from the mother and baby, and disabled ones. If I parked in these spaces I would be moved on by one of the porters sorry, (guardians of the carpark they are called now) stupid title for a person that moves trollies and watches cars for a living. When i do find a space there is a car at the side of me that can not be parked properly by their owner, they need 2 spaces instead of 1. Eventually I go to get a trolly to be greeted with lots of different size trollies, small ones that you have to put £1 coin inside to use it, big, normal size ones, ones with baby seats, very small ones that fit on to wheelchairs, and then there are the enormous big shopper ones that are huge, and since I am only small, pushing one of them would be difficult, my arms would be up to my shoulder blades. Anyway I chose
a normal size one, with of course had a wonky wheel, and as I was wobbling my way into the store i was greeted by the greeter. Nice lady said hello, and hello to everybody else. I bet she was sick of saying hello by the time she finished her shift. The first thing I saw was the george counter, a really good variety of clothing and footwear for men, women and children. The only problem was the rails the clothes were on were about 7 foot high and I couldnt reach this top I'd liked, so I had to go and ask one of the assistants to get it down for me. What a wally I felt. These counters should be lowered a bit, so people could reach. I think that has come from walmart, because their stores have their shelves really high. I went down to the entertainment, and was surprised by all the choice they had cd'd and dvd's and lots of computer games and video games. As i made my way around the grocery shelves there was loads of stuff that i never ever heard of, Lots of foreign stuff etc. I noticed that a lot of things were not avalable on the shelves, I dont know if they had sold out or they were just not available. It was 4.30 when I was their and most of the shelves were empty, not to mention the fruit and veg counter. If its empty at 4.30 whats it going to be like at say 7oclock or 8 oclock for the late shoppers as this store is only open till 9 oclock. As I came to the checkouts, I noticed that all the tills were not on so there were queues at hte one that were on. I stood in this queue fo about 5 minutes, which is not long i suppose. Eventually, after I put my stuff on the belt, the checkout operator was very nice and friendly, she asked me if I wanted a hand with my packing, and I said yes. I didnt know they had to help, I think they had plenty to do without packing bags aswell. She chatted away to me, she explained that it was a new thing to do, to pack customers bags, as once upon atime they used to have bag packers to do that. She says it was a heavy job to do, but she had to do it. When I had finished she said goodbye and smiled. I went to the restaurant and most of the tables had dirty plates and cups left on them. It made the place look dirty, not a place I wanted to sit down and have a cup of tea in, so I turned around and walked out. As i walked to my car, a nice porter, sorry(guardian of the carpark) aproached me as he saw me struggling with my wobbly trolly. He asked if I needed a hand, and I took him up on his offer. He pushed my wonky trolly to my car and helped me put the bags in the boot amd then he took my winky wonky trolly away for me, which was nice of him. As I left for home I thought thank god for that, as I hate shopping, just like everybody else does. I just had to face putting it all away in the cupboards when i got home. My experience of Asda is... I complain alot just like everbody else that has to do shopping but it wasnt bad, friendly staff, decent food, plenty of choice, the prices are low, the store was clean aswell, no spillages etc on the floor. I would shop at asda again I suppose. I havent got a choice really as it is my local store. Asda is a really nice store. Really.

Incidentally - staff complain about the high shelving too and far it gets us! No doubt some bloke behind a desk thought it would be a good idea!
