Advantages Cheap, friendly, clean, well maintained and stocked, wide aisles.
Disadvantages The self service checkouts can be a pain sometimes.
My mum and dad were always shoppers at Tesco when I was young. After I left home I had a limited budget of sorts and shopped around and found that I could do my shopping cheaply in Asda, much cheaper than most other stores. After so long shopping there and having a child as well as having the internet and websites such as MySupermarket it made it eas to find out just how much cheaper it was shopping at Asda. I use branded products for some things which I admit I don't tend to buy here unless they are on a good deal and cheaper than anywhere else but for a lot of things I use the budget range of Smartprice which I prefer, I find the products much blanded than say Heinz which suits my taste buds better.Asda is a supermarket that caters everything under one roof, from stationary to food and groceries, cleaning products, beauty items and baby items as well as homewares and electricals you really can buy anything there. With the addition of George clothing a few years ago at my local store it meant I had to go nowhere else. I also find the opening hours really good there are a couple of 24 hour stores close to me but there is also the closest which is 8am-10pm so you can literally go at any time to do your shopping although the best time to get reduced products and fresh produce is early evening around 5-6pm.
I also love the fact that they hold various events reducing products to silly prices in comparison to other stores. When my son was younger I used to stock up in the baby event enough so to last me until the next one was on. It made it much cheaper to do this way. Nowadays I continue to do the same thing throughout all events, I find the cleaning one a really good buy where you can buy branded products remarkably cheaply.Asda also provide a Christmas saver club which makes it good for those on a budget to save up for Christmas throoughout the year with the added bonus of a few extra pounds for saving certain amounts.
I find the stores to be very clean, well stocked, friendly staff and the addition of the self checkouts I love especially when you are just running in for a couple of items you can get in and out quickly providing they comply with your request which can sometimes be difficult but members of staff have been brilliant and sort the problem out quickly and efficiently.Customer services are excellent and helpful at refunds or exchanging products although I have only have to do it the once they had no problems with it at all. I also find the stores to be well laid out, the carpark well maintained, trolley parks almost full at all times.
The further addition of the 10% guarantee is also a welcomed bonus for those times when you may not have saved quite as much as 10% they provide you with a voucher to use on your next shop. I also find that if you have any coupons for items you are purchasing they are more than happy to accept these as well.I have no problems at all with Asda and would recommend anyone give them a go. Definately 5 stars from me!
