BACKGROUND I love yogurts - especially Strawberry, but find that branded yogurts tend to be a bit expensive. In my quest for economising and cutting down the cost of our weekly grocery shop, I decided to try a different brand. The brand I tried was Asda's own label Smart Price Low Fat Strawberry Yogurt. THE PACKAGING The packaging rings true to the Smart Price label - plain and simple. The pot is mostly white in colour, but it does have a small section of red at the bottom. The Smart Price logo is at the top of the pot and then the words 'Low Fat Strawberry Flavour Yogurt' is written in red ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

Everybody is shopping on a budget these days and this is another one of the products that I've tried in my bid to save a few pennies and still enjoy the things that I like! The yoghurt pot is simple in design with the familiar green and white smart price logo and is a plastic tub with a foil lid (don't forget to scrape that yoghurt off!) it is stated as being low fat so is great if you are watching your weight or just trying to stay healthy. This product contains milk and may contains traces of nuts or seeds. There are no bits in this yoghurt and it's quite creamy and was much tastier than I ... more

well, another op for smart price... am i hard up? saving for a holiday? or just plain tight with money? All of the above. Its fair to say that when it comes to yoghurts i know what i like, out go chocolate/toffee/fudge/custard flavours in stay the traditional fruit and natural flavours. My normal brand is Muller Light, primarily rasberry and cranberry flavour, which i consume every morning with my cereal, and also in the evening after tea as dessert. However a recession has hit the Bean household and i have been forced to turn away from muller at 99p for 3 or occassionally £1.50 for 5, they ... more

"CHEAP AND NASTY". One phrase I hear FAR too often, maybe this used to be the case in the old days, but now it's not often true! These yogurts are a good example. At first glance these seem pretty unbelievable - how could Asda make a nice yogurt for 8p, and make a profit out of it?! I've been having these for ages now, and I must say they're great quality, and definitely worth a trial at 8p a time. I'm a toffee yogurt-aholic, so their Toffee singles are fantastic - 12 yogurts for £1, and you'd still have change! Asda also do 4 packs for very slightly cheaper (29p for 4), that have Toffee ... more

I am not that keen on yogurt, but Netto sells a range of yogurts for 8p which I like, so when I was in ASDA, and saw that they also sell an 8p yogurt, I thought I’d get one to try. After all for just 8p it’s not the end of the world if you don’t like it. PACKAGING As with all the ASDA smartprice products, the packaging is white, with red and black writing. The lid says ‘ASDA Smartprice Low Fat Strawberry Yogurt.’ It also has the use by date and a ‘V’ symbol to indicate that it’s suitable for vegetarians. TASTE The Yogurt tastes O.K, but I’m ... more
