I have ordered from ASDA online grocery service on a number of occasions now but am getting really annoyed that the delivery is almost always late with the same excuse (The van has broken down)!!! This has happened on five of my last seven orders so enough is enough. And to make matters worse on one of my orders, where I asked for a bottle of brandy, the item was unavailable and no substitute was available!! No brandy in the alcohol section of a megastore!!?? Ifind that hard to believe. I have recently changed to Tesco who now offer a similar substitution policy to ASDA whereby they will provide a price match on a like for like substitution that until recently they never offered.
ASDA customer services are always polite and as helpful as they can be with refunded delivery charges in some cases. The problem of the sub standard vehicles is a complete fantasy as one of their own delivery guys told me that the problem lies, not with the vans, but with the store managers and admin staff who, due to high volumes of orders, overload the vans with more jobs that couldn't possibly be delivered on time.
All I am saying is be cautious and mindful of this when ordering from ASDA and if this happens to you make sure that you contact them to have your delivery charge refunded.
