“Not For Me.”

published 30/12/2009

ProMaybe good for childrens tea time.

ConsLacking in taste.

Cold frosty nights, a cup of steaming hot cocoa and a well buttered crumpet, what could be more comforting. Like many of us I will be in financial recovery mode for a few weeks until my bank balance steps firmly back into the black. This means that I will have to hunt that little bit harder for...

Review of Asda Smart Price Crumpets Asda's own label, economy range is known as Smart Price. In line with many other supermarkets, the Smart Price range has been introduced to offer shoppers a low budget alternative to costlier ranges. Asda Smart Price products can be found right across the store...

“Cheap crumpets”

published 07/01/2011

ProCheap

ConsDon't compare to more expensive brands

I know it is really bad but I generally don’t eat breakfast. I don’t have much time in the morning before having to leave for classes so I really cant be bothered to spend ages eating cereal. If I do manage to eat something, crumpets are usually what I will go for. I decided to try Asda crumpets...

ProPrice

ConsNot quite as tasty as the expensive ones

You can't beat crumpets for breakfast with lots of melted butter, we usually have the Warburtons ones. Last time we were in Asda I picked up a packet of smart price crumpets, these were 35p for six, so substantially cheaper than our usual ones. They are packaged in a clear plastic wrapper showing...

“Nice enough bit of crumpet!”

published 14/05/2014

ProCheap, tasty enough

ConsNone really!

I love crumpets and usually buy Warburtons or Kingsmill or some sort of brand like that. However I don't mind admitting that financially, like many people I'm struggling at the moment to cover everything with the money that I have coming in and I've had no choice but to make as many cutbacks as I...

Not for me

“Call yourself a crumpet?”

published 12/02/2015

ProPrice. Clear vegetarian sign.

ConsFlat. Lacked flavour.

I do quite a lot of my food shopping online now, particularly with Tesco or via the Asda app. On the whole I find it a lot quicker and less stressful than a regular shop. Online Supermarkets will tend to "sub" or substitute an item if the particular one chosen is not available at time of picking...

“scrumpets”

published 19/03/2011

ProCheap, tasty, versatile

ConsUnappealing aesthetics

These crumpets were scrumptious. Despite being a budget brand product they leave litlle to be desired from more expensive crumpets. They seem to be quite thin but this does not impact the taste which is as good as any other brand's crumpets. In my opinion once you have overcome the unappetising...
