Asprey & Garrard (Shop)

Firstly I must inform you that what was for the last six or so years Asprey & Garrard has now returned to its original state, with Asprey goods being made available only in the Old Bond St. store; Garrards goods are now housed in the shop behind Aspreys. The reason for this rather sudden split is the downturn in business since the merger.

Now, I will concentrate on Asprey prior to its current refurbishment:

Asprey has a very convenient location, with nearby parking being readily available in Cork St., and Savile Row, or if you do not drive yourself, get your chauffeur to pull up outside! Due to its central location I would also imagine that it is equally accessible when using public transport.

The outside is very elegant, with large windows displaying their various ranges of products. The description of the interior is pre-refurbishment. Like all good stores there is a doorman, who upon opening the door allows one to enter a word where luxury prevails - dark wood cabinets, and shelving units display the source of this luxury.

Some might say that most of the products are overly extravagant and a shameful waste of money. Certainly they are extravagant, but by no means a waste of money. Ranges include customised versions of games, both casino, and board games, e.g. roulette wheels, scrabble, and monopoly sets. There is the ususal selection of writing, smoking, and drinking accessories as well as Connolly leather luggage, and handbags. Two customised Ferraris are on offer - with around £50k added on to their original price, these have Asprey purple interiors or exteriors, depending on model, Connolly leather upholstery, and matching luggage and atlas sets. A superb selection of high quality antiques are available too - their price, however, is at a premium, after all they are in Asprey. Clocks, and watches include Au de mars Piguet, Rolex, Patek Phillipe and several other top end brands. They offer a superb repairing and service department for any timepieces, regardless of whether they were purchased from Asprey of not. The most successful, and indeed famous range is the jewellery - lavish use of large D flawless, brilliant white diamonds, as well as striking coloured ones - rings, pendants, necklaces, ranging from under £1000 to well over a few million,. However, if it really serious jewellery that you are after, try Graff who specialise in the best quality pieces that money can buy.

If you fancy an uneccessary something, or some luxurious jewellery, or just a good browse, pop into Asprey, and leave the real world for half an hour.
