VITALSTATISTIX: The Chief of the village. He has a strange habit of standing on a shield carried by two tribesman.
GETAFIX: The druid of the village. It is through him that the village is able to withstand the might of the Roman Empire.
CACOFONIX: The Bard of the village however no one will ever listen ... ...Asterix the Gaul is the first book in a series that stretches to currently 31 books. It was first published in 1961 and has been in continuous publication ever since. It introduces all the characters very well and takes you for a wonderfully irreverent ride. Incredibly for a French publication the humour really does translate over very well with some very wonderful English touches put in along the way.
