The Asus Eee PC 701 -- its a very portable laptop that cost me £210. Its a very neat laptop, being a traveller and travelling with my job, I need a light laptop with instant internet, messenger, skype access. This laptop gives you this with ease. All of my colleagues are intrigued by the laptop, especially the guys with 17" screens, lugging them around to every destination.
The Eee PC is one of the smallest laptops on the market. At 225 by 35 by 165mm, it's about the size of a book, and weighs 900 odd grams. Its petite dimensions give it a toy-like appearance, but this is countervailed by the pearl-white finish, which gives it a touch of sophistication. Ultimately, the Eee PC looks equally at home on the catwalk or in a child's playpen -- it is what you make of it really! Because it's so small, some sacrifices have been ma!e. The keyboard is exceptionally tiny and the keys are very closely grouped ( not great when you have kids fingers like me ! ) Whereas keys on a standard desktop keyboard have about a 4mm gap, the gap between those on my Eee PC is less than 1mm so it's easy to make mistakes. Recommend you to by a wireless keyboard and mouse!!!
Quite a few ports scattered around the machine. 2 USB ports on the right, a 3rd on the left, plus a d-Sub video output port for those who want to use an external display. You also get a memory card reader on the right side that supports SDHC memory cards. There is a webcam sitting above the screen. It's great for taking pics of or making short movies of yourself for Facebook, YouTube, and the like! Speakers sit either side of the display, but the microphone is strangely mounted on the underside of the laptop, which affects audio quality slightly. You can, however, connect an external mic or external speakers to the audio jacks at the left side of the laptop.
One final note about the design -- the Eee PC's power adaptor is proportionally as tiny as the laptop. It looks more like a mobile phone charger than a laptop charger, which is great since you don't have to lug an enormous power brick around. You probably wont get much in the way of hardware anywhere for just over £200, but the Eee pc should NOT be written off. Very long battery life when fully charged.
I Would recommend this product! :)

You would recommend this product, right? So would I. I would recommend you takri t back to the store, get a refund, and then procure an Acer Aspire One. The battery life is long when fully charged you say, but how long? If 2 hours when everything set to slow and low then yeah, it's longish, if you see the world in slow motion. You're a jet pilot so I highly doubt that. Good review, even though disagree that this is a device worth buying.
