Like a late night curry, this graphics accelerator is on Fire.
Before purchasing a graphics card you must answer this question, to decide which card is best for you.I use my computer for:
A = Intensing online gaming / Digital photographyIf you answered A, B, or C then the graphics card I recommend is the 'Ati Fire T2-128'.
I really recommend this card as it has so much to offer at such a small price!!!Firstly, the card has both VGA and DVI outputs so there is no need to buy adapters, also you can use both outputs at the same time!! (Dual monitors).
Secondly, it has so much power thanks to the super fast AGP 8x interface (compatible with 4x as well) and a full 128MB of DDR memory onboard so there is no demand on the system memory. I mean this card is designed for power hungy CAD applications. It does get a bit warm by the supplied fan is more than capable of getting rid of the heat. It is very stable and reliable, I have installed many of these cards and not had one problem as of yet.Based on the FGL 9600 Visual Processing Unit (GPU) which provides true 3D graphics and is very fast and put no strain on the computer it is attached to.
But the feature that I personally like the most isn't the card, its the mounds of software that are supplied in the package, even Linux Drivers!!! Also there are loads of software and firmware downloads / upgrades availible for this card on the ATI website.Installation is brief and the manual was very indepth.
This is the best entry-level card for what it costs I have seen so far, I really must recommend this card. I have seen this card for £181.96 which is nothing for what it offers.
To use dual monitors on this card, you don't need one VGA monitor and one DVI monitor, you can use two VGA monitors using a DVI-to-VGA adapter costing about £1-5.
