having the uk as a local call rate with a 1.5p per minute calling rate anytime of day, any day of the week also makes this service very attractive.
installation time can be a hazard especially for those people desperate for a phone as it has been known by friends of mine to wait up to two months for installation when quoted 2 weeks, customer service is occasioally good with existig customer but new customer who have just put there signature on the dotted line soon find confusion within the customer service jargon and lost agreements.
on a whole but good value for money and worth checking out and hte service and products are guaranteed as noone is held to a minumum contract where they are free to revert back to there previous provider.
Advantages: Excellent phone facilities Disadvantages: Unable to use Saver offers.
I registered for Atlantic Telecom right at the start in my area, I was one of the initial trial users, tempted by the 2 numbers offer, cheaper bills and phone facilities. This was all before the relaunch of BT services to win back such customers as myself, disallusioned with the previous lack of choice and monopoly on the phone system.
I find that the monopoly still exists. I receive and follow up on various offers made to me for cheaper bills, ... ...happy enough to use my Atlantic Telecom line to provide me with my tv services, but not for the additional call-saving offers they provided (up to 80% off call charges).
I would like to see this acted on- the BT monopoly was supposed to be curbed, but it is still pretty much in force, from what I can see, and it is the only thing that annoys me about an otherwise superb service from my own providers- Atlantic Telecom, otherwise, obviously, I would ...

Advantages: Err . . . Disadvantages: Costs a bomb for phone calls
British Telecom is actually, Big Trouble. Why, I here you ask. Well firstly, they make their call prices sound really good by promoting their service, BT Together. BT Together does indeed, have good call prices, but you have to pay £11.99 a month, including line rental. And, unless you use the phone alot, this definitely isn't worth it. EVERY SINGLE Phone company that I have come across, charges at least half the price of BT calls. The cheapest ones I know of are 'Quip!' and 'AtlanticTelecom'. They charge as litrrle as 1p a minute for calls.
The second reason BT are a rip off is to do with Line One. As you probably know, a few months ago, you could get totally free internet access from Line One if you spent at least £5 a month on phone calls with 'Quip!'. Good deal. But last month, Line One announced that later this month, they are ...

Advantages: Cheap calls, convenient, flexible, free itemised billing, Disadvantages: First Telecom has been bought by Atlantic –who are not taking on new customers at present but will be doing so in about 4 weeks.
Is your landline phone bill too high? Are you suffering by making expensive peak time calls in the day? Maybe your pre-paid mobile bill is too high? Well fear not, there are plenty of new hip telecoms about that offer you savings, and the ultimate flexibility!
I have been a customer of First Telecom since the last 2 years and this opinion relates to my experience and recommendations of this company based on current Telecom affairs and more recently since Atlantic Telecommunications Group bought First Telecom.
First Telecom (FT) is one of the many new generation of Telecom companies that have sprung up in the last 5 years. Most of these telecoms can offer savings up to 70% against BT’s standard call prices for residential customers (not including various add on BT packages). Other companies similar to FT include Swift ...
