We have bought several items from the shopping channels and have been very pleased with both the quality and value for money. Customer service has been good on them all, with the exception of Auctionworld and its sister ... ..."Service" we wrote to the Auctionworld office complaining and to our surprise we have not received a reply. My partner has also requested that a Manager calls him back. Surprise, surpise - no return call! After eventually getting through yet again, he was told he was on a call back list. That was a week ago.
Still nothing!
Our next point of call is Trading Standards Office as we are getting nowhere with Auctionworld. more

Recently we returned one or two items to Auctionworld, but became worried when the money was not refunded back into the bank account, so my partner called Customer Service. After several attempts, when the line was consistently engaged, he obtained a ringing tone and then a message telling him that "his call was important and will be answered shortly". However, it couldn't have been that important as he hung on for one and a half hours before his call was answered by an assistant. He was told that one of the items had been received and the money would be refunded, but they could not trace another item as the returns number my partner had been given did not tally with the one they had on screen. Also, because we did not have a receipt (their courier didn't leave one when they collected the item whilst we were were at work) they couldn't refund the money. He also queried an item that had been ordered three months previously and which we had not received. Since then, after numerous attempts at calling Customer Service and being kept on hold from anything between 45 minutes and 2 hours, we have still received no satisfaction. No refunds have been made, we still have not received the item ordered 3 months ago and the other item that had two different returns numbers still has not shown on their screen and my partner has subsequently been told that their computer went down and they lost all their data (what happened to backing up the system?) so the chance of a refund on this item looks slim. To date they owe us in excess of £500.
Anyway, in view of all the problems with Customer "Service" we wrote to the Auctionworld office complaining and to our surprise we have not received a reply. My partner has also requested that a Manager calls him back. Surprise, surpise - no return call! After eventually getting through yet again, he was told he was on a call back list. My overall opinion of this shopping channel is that they sell good quality items, but that their customer service is sadly lacking. I am absolutely appalled at the way they conduct business. They do not appear to be able to keep proper records, they cannot meet delivery times, they do not answer letters or phone calls and they generally possess a couldnt-care-less attitude. I therefore would not recommend this shopping outlet to anyone.
Advantages: Great value Disadvantages: The gavel is "Going Going Gone"!!!
The last reviews of bid-up.tv (now called bid tv) were very helpful but are now out of date, and had I been a member of Ciao then I would have written a very positive review. Unfortunately times have changed and so has this channel.
Many people associate bid tv with auctions. The channel no longer does live rising price auctions. It now does falling price auctions, and if you've ever seen price-drop.tv, you'll know that it's exactly the same. They dont have a guide price anymore, (they were got rid of following the auctionworld fiasco) so they start with a price and and drop the price on that product.
The idea is that when the price falls to an amount you would like to pay, you phone the £1.00 premium number press 1 and the product is yours. (Or alternatively, you could bid via the website www.bid.tv. After registering you can bid ...
