Lovely Audi A2
Advantages: Quality, great to drive Disadvantages: No diesel automatic
...much as this very funky Audi A2, so I compromised on the automatic aspect, reckoning that I'd rather save some money on the fuel economy (and the road tax - a surprisingly refreshing 35 quid a year - bargain!). I also liked the relatively low emissions.
I wanted something small, pretty cheap to run and very easy to drive, but also wanted the car to be a bit different. Since then I seem to see A2s everywhere, but I think that might just be because ... ...imperative, as I know very little about mechanics and want to have an easy life! We were already a one-Audi family (hubby has an A4) and I thought I'd have a look at the A2. What I liked about it was its upright, quite dynamic driving position, and the loads of space in the back because the back seat passengers' feet go under the front seat passengers' seats. I also loved the nippy, very responsive engine. Finally, it's also quite easy to get stuff ...

Loving my Audi A2 1.4
Advantages: Desirable, looks modern and cool, equipment, alluminium body, noise, fuel economy, not fast but brisk. Disadvantages: visibility, awkward setting off at first.
...to carry a set of audi keys. Its a car with character and some drivers wave at each other, that doesnt happen with fiesta drivers. Its also hard to step out and not look back in admiration, check out those 17inch alloys with low profile tyres.
I have driven from Leeds to Sweden in absolute comfort, not once did my bottom go numb. It comfortably cruised at 80-85mph, any faster and fuel efficiency suffered because the revs were getting towards 4000. ... ...at 70 it would return far more. On the autobahns of Germany i got it to 120mph, 10mph over the claimed top speed, it wasnt even scary.
The engine sounds awesome, like a little v6 sports car and it goes much better than you would expect from 75hp, this is due to its weight of under 1ton with its alluminium body. It handles pretty well and is very predicatble, it can get a little understeery when pushed and rolls a bit when going fast but its not ...

Audi A2 FSi Colour Storm
Advantages: Excellent Looks, Cheap to Run, Reliable Disadvantages: No Longer Sold
We got an Audi A2 1.6 FSi Colour Storm from a main dealer 5 years ago, it was an ex-demo and my wife fell in love with it straight away. Now I could bore you with fuel consumption and safety ratings but I always feel these reviews should be more based on the fact that most people that buy things care more about personal experiences rather than things they can find out about from the makers web site. We looked at loads of cars and by far this was ... ...fantastic for a 1.6 engine. The Colour Storm edition is the one I would go to, the colour scheme is totally original with bright body colour and black roof and mirrors. The interior is blessed with air-conditioning, a great stereo system and amazing comfortable seats. The room in the back could be a little more spacious as could the boot, but to be honest you would not really be buying this car to load it up with equipment. As I said we have had ...

Audi A2 Diesel The Future, Almost
Advantages: Nippy, very fuel efficient Disadvantages: No centre rear seat.
Recently while my much bigger Audi was in the garage i was loaned one of the new A2's, the 1.2 Tdi. I was fascinated by the whole concept and while I've seen quite a few on the roads this was the first opportunity to examine one up close. It really is a classy car and has the halmarked Audi quality written all over it. The car feels solid even though its lightness is just one of the reasons why it returns such good economy, more of that later.
The ... ...pretty good although the rear spoiler cuts across the back window. All the controls work very well and the specification is very high, aircon is probably a must considering how much glass there is. Only significant disappointment was the rear seat which only seats 2 rather than 3. Shame that even a lap belt could not have been fitted for very occasional usage. Once moving the car is not super quiet and rides fairly firmly. The engine is willing and ...

Excellent car, AUDI A3 head and shoulders over the rest
Advantages: Fast, elegant, superb to drive, top quality Disadvantages: boring interior, very hard seats
...the best has been my Audi A3, I can say with authority that it is a far better car than 9/10 other brands of car. It's as simple as that. Every component seem to be of the highest quality, you can tell it's an Audi mainly by its superb braking and its perfect handling. Consumption is high-ish, although that is to be expected from a car that is quite heavy, and it's very good when compared to cars of similar class to it.
The low pints, for me at ... ...might as well be in a Ford, and also how hard and, compared to other cars, uncomfortable the seats are, although they look well made and of good materials. Apart from that, I have to say that attention to detail is everywhere, the electric sunroof in particular is something amazing in this car.
To summarise, I would never look at this car as a status symbol, it is a necessity for someone who needs a really good and reliable car, apart from being ...
