?) offered me no recompense.
In short, this was the worst new car we have ever owned in terms of reliability and importer / dealer service. However, when you look at Audi sales figures in the UK you can see why. The dealers have a long line of punters (most improved sales in 2006 of any importer) desperate to buy into the brand, and service facilities from the last millenium, so they concentrate on the bottom line - shifting the metal from the showroom - and once you have the vehicle, well.......!
Mercedes have been through this syndrome a few years ago, and are now very much improved. The Audi went, to be replaced by a Merc cabriolet, what an improvement ! Decent dealership, good after sales, and a car with comfortable seats and decent ride quality. So far only 6,000 miles, but compared to the Audi - it is wonderful.
Audi good ...
Advantages: Great build quality, lots of toys, pretty nippy and a name you can trust. Disadvantages: Fuel consumption, fault on stereo and uncomfortable on really long journeys.
What to say about the audi? The car is brilliantly built with a real solid feel and the cabin is a very refined and comfortable place to be with plenty of gadgets to play with when you get bored! The sound system in the car blows me away with the full surround sound and the clarity, quality and depth that it produces. The car is pretty quick off the mark and can get you out of most situations with a quick prod of the accelerator but the power does seem to tail off as you get to the higher rev ranges.
I bought this car about 9 months ago while living at the very top of scotland so I have done a few long journeys in it (over 600 miles at a time!). I would have to say that over a very long distance the seat can become uncomfortable and you do end up with a bad back and that the fuel consumption is not great! On a long journey ...
Advantages: Fast, fun, solid build, reliable engine, and very safe Disadvantages: Not very pratical, more of a posers car then a serious sports car

Imported model LHD
Mileage 73,100
Actual 0-60: 5.5 secs
Obtained MPH: 147mph
The Audi TT since its release has been a highly successful coupe. Released in 1998 in Europe the baby Audi has certainly proved it is not a baby under the skin. Our model we purchased is a 2000 X plated imported model (registered UK in 2002) has got just over 73,000 miles and is the metallic denim blue, with the RS4 18" alloys. A truly stunning car.
We bought our TT for £9495 not bad considering the mileage and the fact it's a 225 Quattro with 18" alloys, full blue inside, and a 10 CD changer. I live in Birmingham and picked up the car from the Bucks town of Chesham so had to quickly find my bearings in a town I had never been in a LHD car. It was interesting. After a few payment issues ...
