Audi A3 1.6 FSI SE 5dr

Advantages: Great comfort, economical, great value for money, excellent road runner
Disadvantages: Not as punchy as a Golf GTI 2.0

...the Golf, this car has a 6 Disc CD Autochanger and I would recommend this over the ordinary CD player as when you are driving along, you can automatically change CD's over without all the hassle. It had climate control which was extremely useful in the summer with my hayfever, it made it excellent. Also the car was a good performer on long road trips, it was comfortable in the front or in the back. My Audi was 3drs with also a 6 speed gearstick which amazed anyone who hadn't come accross this before in a car. It ran on unleaded fuel and was manual. I did notice that as soon as I brought the car, all other Audi A3's on the road were the TDI option rather than the FSI which I can only presume people went for because that diesel was cheaper to run rather than unleaded. ...We got an Audi A2 1.6 FSi Colour Storm from a main dealer 5 years ago, it was an ex-demo and my wife fell in love with it straight away. Now I could bore you with fuel consumption and safety ratings but I always feel these reviews should be more based on the fact that most people that buy things care more about personal experiences rather than things they can find out about from the makers web site. We looked at loads of cars and by far this was not only the most quirky, but also the performance was fantastic for a 1.6 engine. The Colour Storm edition is the one I would go to, the colour scheme is totally original with bright body colour and black roof and mirrors. The interior is blessed with air-conditioning, a great stereo system and amazing comfortable seats. The room in the back could be a little more spacious as could the boot... Read review

Advantages: Roomier than the traditional A3
Disadvantages: A little slow to pick up speed

...I chose this model for two main reasons the extra bootspace and the fact that it comes with 5 doors, unlike the traditional A3 model. Although the car is a little on the slow side at picking up speed when you pull away from traffic lights, it is an ideal car for motorway driving. I find that you have to be careful or you could easily get to over 100 miles per hour without realising, it is so smooth and really sits well on the road. The car is average in the fuel consumption stakes but that is out weighed by the drive quality that you would expect from Audi. This model has the advantage of coming with a CD player and alloy wheels, which the standard Audi A3 does not include. I recenctly had an accident in mine (not my fault) and was very impressed with the safety features, I hardly felt the impact as the car took it all. Overall the car... Read review
