Audi A6 3.0 TDI quattro S line 4dr

Advantages: Quality, ride, and prestige
Disadvantages: Huge CO2 bills!!!

...Audi's answer to the 5 series, or just another almost ran? The new A6 is undoubtedly one of the best looking executive cars on the road (better than that 5-series in my opinion) and is so well put together you can almost fall in love with it instantly. The issue with this car is two fold, one you can only have automatic and four wheel drive, and secondly it is nowhere near as good an engine as the 5-series 3.0 oil burner. It is a shame because if money were no object (tax wise) then this would be the car I think most company car drivers would opt for. The chancellor stands to benefit to around £100 per month for every one of these sold instead of a BMW - I am sure he is an Audi fan. That aside if you want a well built German exec and are not worried about the tax then this has to be the car for you.... Read review

...Now please don't quote me on this, but I just nipped over to the Audi web site -- http://www.audi.co.uk/newcars/range.jsp?section=/models/a6saloon/a6saloon -- to do a quick bit of research for this review and it looks pretty definite to me that they are no longer doing a 1.9 TDI version of the Audi A6 saloon. They are doing a 2.4 SE manual, a 2.4 SE multitronic, a 3.2 FSI SE manual, a 3.2 FSI quattro SE manual, a 3.2 FSI quattro SE tiptonic, a 4.2 quattro SE tiptronic, a 2.0 TDI SE manual and a 3.0 TDI quattro SE tiptronic, but look, there ain't a 1.9 SE TDI anymore. Well, ever willing to go against the grain dave27 changed his company car pretty damn recent and went for the old version of the Audi before these new fangled mothers found their way onto our streets, and I certainly have got a 1.9 SE TDI to call my very own. ...This is my second Audi A4, and I bought it on the strength of my experiences with my previous A4. My car is a 2002 model 3.0 Quattro Sport with the 6 speed manual ‘box. I bought this car used with 55,000 miles on the clock 6 months ago, replacing my previous car, which had covered 107,000 miles. The key strengths of this car are much the same as the previous car, namely: Reliability, Build quality, Comfort, Practicality, and Driving Involvement. I bought this car, as I also wanted more performance, as well as a newer car with lower mileage. The 3.0 6-cylinder engine is wonderfully smooth and quiet in general driving, while under harder acceleration it provides a suitably sporting growl. The six-speed ‘box doesn’t rev any lower in top gear than my 2.0’s 5 speed, but the closer ratios make it extremely flexible for open road/A road... Read review
