When I get me Audi out on the road
Advantages: Great features Disadvantages: Price
...just nipped over to the Audi web site -- http://www.audi.co.uk/newcars/range.jsp?section=/models/a6saloon/a6saloon -- to do a quick bit of research for this review and it looks pretty definite to me that they are no longer doing a 1.9 TDI version of the Audi A6 saloon. They are doing a 2.4 SE manual, a 2.4 SE multitronic, a 3.2 FSI SE manual, a 3.2 FSI quattro SE manual, a 3.2 FSI quattro SE tiptonic, a 4.2 quattro SE tiptronic, a 2.0 TDI SE manual ... ...the old version of the Audi before these new fangled mothers found their way onto our streets, and I certainly have got a 1.9 SE TDI to call my very own. The others mentioned above vary in on the road retail price between £24,020 and a whopping £43,025, should the fancy take you. I think my model was just over the 20 grand mark, but as I get mine via my job I don't need to worry about it, sorry. Anyway enough of the quick advert, let's get on with ...

The best!
Advantages: Fast, elegant, spacious. Disadvantages: None!
...say that I love the Audi above them all. I have had the saloon version and am now on my 3rd Avant! The engine is top, with an automatic gearbox you are not even aware that you have hit 100mph so quickly and smoothly. It is a heavy car but I still have no problem beating the opposition at the lights! The interior is great, plenty of room and if you go for the leather option it's fabulous. The car does everything except cook the dinner and if you need ...

1999 Audi A6 1.8 T SE - First Rate Care
Advantages: Roomy, quiet, comfortable, quite economical. Disadvantages: Not the prettiest!
...water in the passenger footwell. And give the car a good thrash now and again by taking it up to the red line.
Audi dealers are very expnsive and will suggest work that is not strictly needed. Find a good independent and these cars will gone on for ever. ...

Audi A6 2.8 Quattro Manual 1999 model
Advantages: Loads of room in front and back, big boot, handles very well Disadvantages: uses quite a bit of petrol on short journeys
...of airbags.
I rang Audi regarding servicing the vehicle when it is due in August and they say it will be roughly £200, which will be for an 80000 service which i'm led to believe is a major service. When i owned my A4 this was about the same price for the same service, some people would say this is expensive but when you consider its a main dealer service and i was given a courtesy car to use, and the fact that Audi gave mine a full valet( leather ... ...car, some people say the Audi is a bit of a firm ride which may be true to an extent but i drive a lorry all day so for me to go from that to this car is a good thing. I would definitly buy this model again, all though i think next time i may step up again to an A8. ...

Better than Passat 4Motion Estate
Advantages: Value, quality, a practical package with a nice hint of sportiness Disadvantages: No CD as standard.
Audi A6 1.8 T Quattro
I have been fairly loyal to VAG over the years, so when my previous (company provided) Saab 900 came to the end of its lease I decided to have a look at either the VW Passat or Audi A6 Avant.
I was looking for something "interesting" and yet practical. I have a young family (two under-fives) plus a dog. I thought - hmm, a sporty estate might do the trick.
So we had a test drive in a Passat 2.8 V6 4motion Estate. Now, I used ... ...So, next thought was an Audi A6. The new A4 was also a consideration but my local dealer just happened to have an A6 Avant 1.8T Quattro in stock. An ex-demonstrator. The test drive showed it be nearly ideal. The engine isn't that sporty but does the job. The amount of space is fantastic. And the overall quality is much better than the VW.
Good levels of equipment. However, no CD as standard. Good air conditioning, adjustable for driver and front ...
