Audi A6 Avant 1.8T 20V... |

I purchased my vehicle with 60K on the clock and had untroubled driving until 92K.
Then the oil pump failed - a huge warning sign appears in the drivers information panel. Unlike some other reviewers who continued driving (and being an engineer), I immediately stopped. The oil pump and the water pump (these also have problems around 90K) were replaced for arount £320.I found a brilliant 3rd party Audi specialist and they are a fraction of the price of main line dealerships. Quality serviceing and quality oil (I only use Castrol Edge - £80 per fill up) are very important to this engine!
The car has excellent equipment - mine is the SE, and the comfort and ride are superb. The size of the Avant makes moving the family (two kids and 3 dogs) absolutely painless - even on extended drives down to Cornwall.
When finally, the car does give up the game - I will have no hesitation in purchasing another.
