Audi A3 2.0 FSI Review

Advantages: Great comfort, economical, great value for money, excellent road runner
Disadvantages: Not as punchy as a Golf GTI 2.0

I brought an Audi A3 2.0 FSI a few years back and had it for about just over a year. I brought it as an ex demo with only about 3,000 miles on the clock. I had to sell it last year as was buying my sisters Golf GTI. In that time that I had the Audi A3, it was truely an amazing car. It was very economical, I didnt have a computer inside to tell me how many miles to the gallon I was doing but it was pretty good, a much better road runner to the more guzzling Golf GTI. I had a dark navy blue exterior with a pale cloth interior. I brought rubber matts along with the carpet ones the car came with for durability, it was deffinately well worth it. I had a CD/Radio player in the car which was new to me because all the cars I had before that was more old fashioned, but it was well worth it. The only thing I would point out that now having ...

Review of Audi A3 2.0 FSI

A8 Audi

Advantages: Looks Stylish
Disadvantages: Low drag in corners

Audi?s aluminum A8 is a handsome beast. There?s nothing retro or classic about it ? the rounded shape is bang up to date. Despite its soft styling it still looks strong, as a big car should without being overly aggressive. The rear end is square, but the kicked-up flanks look perfect. Despite being quite light, the 2.8-litre version is certainly no hot rod, with just 174bhp and 185lb ft of torque on offer. The 3.7-litre versions obviously improve substantially on these figures, but add seven and a half grand to the asking price at the same time. The 2.8-litre takes 11 lazy seconds to reach 60mph and the in-gear times are sluggish, too. In the engine?s defence it feels smooth and strong, if not quick-revving. The automatic gearbox is partly to blame. It has no ?sport? mode, and while it swaps ratios smoothly, it often refuses to kick ...

Public School Hooligan

Advantages: Rocketship quick
Disadvantages: Licence eater

Saw a one-page “First Steer” write-up on the new Audi A3 3.2 Quattro in Top Gear Magazine, thought “Ooh, that looks like a little belter”, and decided to give my long suffering Audi salesman a ring to see if I could blag a test-drive in one. Fair do’s, the lad come up trumps and got me one for the day. Result! Have you seen the new A3 yet? No? Well, you may have and just not have noticed. It’s very similar to the old one really although to my eyes it’s not as pretty. Underneath is a completely new car. Built on the new Golf Mk V floor pan (due here in February), it’s a bit bigger in every direction than the outgoing car. In keeping with the other members of the VAG range there is a bewildering array of engine sizes and specifications. The 3.2 Litre Quattro Sport is the daddy ...
