The Audi A8 is the VW’s group answer to the Mercedes S-Class and BMW’s 7 series. It looks like an elongated A4. It certainly doesn’t look as large as the S-Class and its all aluminium construction helps to keep the weight down. My road test during my time working at a VAG group dealership involved motorway and town driving. I drove the 3.7 sport model with tiptronic transmission. The car pulls like a steam train and using the tiptronic, progress is refined. The gearshift is notched forward to change up or backward to change down and while it takes a while to get used to it certainly helps when sporty driving is required. All mod cons are included from air-con to electric seats. Rear room is acceptable without being gargantuan. Overall this car should not disappoint and makes an attractive alternative to the other German marques.
