Advantages: Huge amount of space, bomb-proof build quality Disadvantages: High service costs at main dealer
easy enough, although it would be nice to have lumbar support as standard. There are plenty of storage spaces in the front, with under-seat drawers, door bins that expand outwards, and room in the armrest.
Ride comfort and handling could do with improvement, there is a lot of body roll and under-steer through corners and big bumps are not soaked up quite as well as you might expect.
Standard equipment for the SE trim level is reasonable, with climate control, cruise control, electric windows front & back, CD player, and electric seat height adjustment.
Reliability is, as you would expect from an Audi, excellent. My car has done over 100,000 miles and the engine is probably as quiet as the day it left the factory. The automatic (Multitronic) gearbox is exceptional with silky smooth changes and constantly adapting ratios to ...

this the car was less than a paradigm of virtue. All four tyres were illegal at 10,000 miles, various front and rear suspension components were required to pass its first MoT test (less than 20,000 miles !) and the front discs and pads were changed before 20,000 miles arrived - don't ask about the cost as brakes are excluded from Audi's warranty !
From 20,000 miles to 22,000 miles, the car cost just under £2,000 in service costs - and was just weeks outside its warranty. The attitude of Audi UK was - so what ? The MD of the local chain (Smith Knight Fay) never bothered to reply to letters, could not even manage a phone call, and the local dealer principal was a study in 'used-car-dealership'. He even told me, face to face, that 'If this was my wife's car, I'd be really annoyed at such costs and unreliability' - but then (of course ...
Advantages: Built to last, Built to drive and built to enjoy Disadvantages: A little heavy on petrol - aim for a Diesel iy you want to pinch pennies
Built like a tank, extrememly comfortable to drive and goes like stink.
Excellent gadgets, interior to exterior visibility, comfort, handling and a great sound system too.
Only down side is that the MPG is a bit heavy (mine is a 2.4 SE V6), and that those with chunkier thighs may get a bit of a bash as the central console is a bit high.
Possible the best car I have driven, well beyond that of BMW tourings, Range Rovers, Land Rovers, Merc estates and even the wonderful Focus Estate.
Worth looking at as a used car if you're looking for a slightly newer Megane or Focus estate or similar as the depreciation will save yourself a fortune.
Great for a family of 4, and even a dog. Will go on forever and I'm intending on keeping mine until I keel over!!! ...
