One of the great things about the Audi TT is it is a car that has aged well. Over the years even the first model they ever bought out still looks the business. Compare it to the BMW Z3 of the late... more

Advantages Advantages Supermodel-attracting reputation; great build quality; excellent engine

Disadvantages Disadvantages Woeful four wheel drive system; jelly-mould looks

Audi's iconic coupe has been a favourite with motoring pundits and fashion savvy hairdressers since its launch in 1999 and has been one of Audi's most successful sports cars since the original Quattro of the 1980s. But is it really as good as many make out? The incumbent TT Coupe - which is being replaced this year by a newer, sleeker version that just happens to have a nose remarkably similar to that of the latest Ford Focus - shares its underbelly with a Mark IV Volkswagen Golf, which just happens to share familiar components with similarly sized cars in the Seat and Skoda range too. The ... more

Advantages Advantages Great looks, excellent acceleration and 4wd roadholding

Disadvantages Disadvantages Low mpg, only room for 2

This is the best car I have ever had and I will keep it until it (or I) dies. I bought it as a seven-month-old demonstrator (9000 miles) in May 2005 when I was going through a really rough patch at work and thought I might not make it to retirement when I had promised myself an extravagant car. The best move I ever made. I'm not going to go into a lot of technical details because there are others more qualified than me to do that and, basically, it does what it says on the spec. The acceleration is excellent and the 4wd road holding fantastic. It got me from Tyneside to Scotland without mishap ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages cant see properly, faddy, posing car, drinks fuel

Having recently been in a position of getting an Audi TT Quattro in black for a knock down price, and only being the second owner, it was an impulse buy. At first everything was good, it had a CD changer, heated seats, computer telling you everything, and the looks you got when driving were fun. The novelty really REALLY wears off fast however. After about a week of driving, having such a noticeable car started to become a problem rather than being a bit of fun. It might just be me but I was constantly checking it to make sure it was safe from people. Even in car parks, where there were much ... more

Advantages Advantages Audi build quality, great performance

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Common

For the money you can pick them up for now, for a small 225bhp coupe with all the toys and Audi build quality...............really can not complain! Mines has covered sixty four thousand miles now and I've owned since fourty four with no problems what so ever. Besides from the usual sky high Audi servicing costs this car has only cost me four new tyres, new discs and pads and the petrol to run it. The first thing you will notice upon sitting in the car is how low slung the seats are ( nothing next to a Z4 coupe, but still) this and the unusual windscreen can take a bit of getting used to along ... more

4 Stars Quick review of Audi TT Coupe 1.8T quattro (180 bhp) by Martechnic 08/05/2008
Bought new in TT180C Quattro 2003, silver with grey leather and alcantara...(a much better interior than all leathers) and has now coverered 40K. Sure to be a classic. A great experience so far.. the only car I have enjoyed enough to keep more than two-three years! Treated with respect this car rewards the driver on a daily basis. Pushed hard, different story....steering a bit wooly and cornering suffers from serious drift and understeer although keeping the power on does allow the ESP to sort things out. Fuel consumption not great but acceptable considering the performance. Warranty work: New dash pod. New ... more
