You may be assured that auditioning this player as part of a fine high fidelity system will entertain any acquaintances fortunate enough to hear it regardless of "how good their ears are".. Be advised that you must use high quality interconnects (i.e. CHORD), a commensurate preamp and amp (stick with Audio Research if you can), and fine speakers if you expect to hear the remarkable musical experience that the CD7 can provide.... ...I bought myself a pair of RS6's for audio (not home theater). Upstream elements are a Cyrus 6s CD player and the Cyrus 8vs2 integrated amplifier. Let me say upfront that I have a peculiar room shape and the speakers have only done 30 hrs. First impressions are that they sound very good with lighter recordings i.e. jazz quartets / quintets; acoustic blues and folk; vocals. The output is natural, revealing revealing and detailed. However I was less than impressed for heavier recordings of rock and jazz. I find the highs a bit bright and the lows not well defined. I hear bass notes a bit too loose and lines blurry. Both main and inter connect cables are Cyrus. The speakers are bi-amped. Let's hope 200 hrs of break in works.... Read review

Advantages: excellent price and easy to use

...alba have fast become a good make at affordable prices giving good quality and value .this model is the most basic dvd player i have used. it is very easy to use via remote control or with the control buttons on the player itself. it will play dvd/cd/mp3 as well cdr/rw / dvd-r/+r. it plays kodak picture cd's and vcd/svcd/jpeg formats. no display panel on dvd but very easy to use i have one in each of the kids bedrooms so they can play backups of my dvd's so not to damage my originals. the kids work the dvd player easily. purchased mine for less than £30 each. the dvd55 has a scart socket as well as s.video and audio and coax connections on the back comes with full function remote control. other features On Screen Display Zoom Function Multi Angle Selection 2 Channel Stereo Output Digital Stereo Sound colour is...
