Sony gigajuke - music to my ears!

Advantages: Great sound quality, virtual DJ functionality is excellent
Disadvantages: search function missing, iPod connection let down

...there are some flaws where Sony could have put a bit more thought into the solution, however I can accept these for the functionality we get. Here is a review of the key features. CD loading So where do we start...well we have to put music on this thing first, and the easiest way to do that is to use the CD drive to load your CD collection. It takes around 5-10 minutes to copy a standard 10 track album to the unit, so if you have a large CD ...
...£549 from online stores. Sony store prices are much higher. Additional wireless units are around £150. Having said that, one of my other options when I was thinking of buying this unit was to get a an integrated multi room sound system with wires through the walls and ceilings and that was going to cost several thousand pounds, so it was a much easier “sell” to the wife to spend £549 on this gadget instead! Backup Having spent many hours, days ...

Nice sound, nice price

Advantages: Good sound, nice looking machine
Disadvantages: could do with longer speaker cables

I bought this last year as a replacement from a micro system that broke. Its a brilliant little thing, and the sound quality is excellent. It plays tapes, cds which include cd-r, mp3, wma, and cd-rw formatts so it gives you the ability to play your own burnt tracks from downloaded music, and you can also play from a usb device, ive not actualy tried this bit yet because i cant find my usb cable for my mp3 player, but it means that i have the ability ...
...find it! The system looks rather sleek and has a blue digital display when its turned on (not on stand-by) It loads one disc at a time so a bit basic in that respect but im not fussy... It has a total of 120w music output which is 4x30w, ive little understanding of what that actually means but i know it gives a cleaner crisper sound than an average 5w output from similar priced machines. It comes with a remote which is easy to use unlike some ive ...

Music to My Ears!

Advantages: Reliable - Brilliant sound oly rivalled by Bose. Easy to Use.
Disadvantages: Technics have stopped manufacturing these systems. No upgrades available.

...quality? Your right! Technics started manufacturing the "HD301" mini Hi-Fi in 2001. Many of the systems were sold through the high street entertainment retailer, Curry's in the UK. The system was retailed for around £300. The system consists of two high quality 30 watt speakers, a mini amplifier, a single CD deck, a single cassette deck and a stereo tuner, complete with an LCD screen which includes, "Compact Disc Text" - a rare asset, and this still ...
...your system is the beautiful Technics HD301 tape deck which uses Doldy B NR surround sound. I will not teach you to suck eggs, by explaining how a tape deck works. However, what unique with the system is that if your uses a tape to play an album and want a certain track, say "track 10". All you have to do is press the "select track button" 10 times and the system finds it without you having to even use the fast forward button. Magic! Amplifier/Input ...

SC-ZT1 wireless connectivity is poor

Advantages: Easy to set up
Disadvantages: Wireless link to speakers very poor and affected by almost everything in the room

I have just returned the SC-ZT1 I bought recently because the wireless performance and design is extremely poor. This is proved by the user manual which states that the amplifier/transmitter unit must not have anything directly above or below it, any Wifi device within 3 metres, must be at least 50cm above the floor, and must be in direct line of sight of the speakers. These restrictions are totally impractical and make it impossible to get a good ...
...two weeks moving equipment and furniture and the speakers ended up in a position where I might as well have used traditional wired speakers. You cannot find out about this major design fault until you try to use it because no one else has written a review. You would expect something at that high price to be brilliant, but it is far from it. What a waste of time - do not buy this product. ...

Review of Panasonic SC-ZT1E

Great Sound but useless with iPods

Advantages: Great sound and looks
Disadvantages: Can't select iPod tracks or play podcasts. Takes ages to skip CD tracks.

...fantastic! It's the typical Samsung design, gloss piano black, nice glass top on it, in frank, it looks stunning! When you turn it on the buttons just appear on top of the unit, lighting up under the glass, it's all touch sensitive and works very well. The volume dial gets a nice red glow appear around it and a display appears on the front of the unit. The front of the unit is also nice and clean, there is a small flap on the bottom which hides ...
...On the back of the system you have the 2 speaker connections, standard phono in sockets, a connector for the Ipod dock that is included and the socket for the radio aerial. First things first. The unit has FM and DAB radio. I managed to get one station on DAB, but that is because the reception in the room I was in was rubbish. To get the one station I has holding the aerial in some very odd positions. When i did get a signal the radio was clear ...
