Advantages: State of the Art Sound Disadvantages: None that I know of
Before I start regarding this system, a word of advice, really shop around, I personally saved over £100 by buying this over the internet compared with what the high street electrical stores were charging. I paid £327 for the DF-102 System and £68.99 for the SF102 speakers as seperates, instore the system sells for £499.99.
The Hi-Fi comes in two systems, the CD Player (DCD-F102) and a AM/FM Stereo-DAB Receiver (DRA-F102 DAB), both units are silver, ... ...cover. A Remote Control is also supplied with this system (which takes 2 AAA batteries) as well as a DAB indoor antenna.

Needed a new machine and it had to have a cassette deck (as I still have a lot of homemade tapes from my youth!) and a DAB radio too so this was a perfect machine on paper and the price was excellent too!
I read a lot of the reviews and was a little worried about the sound quality and the DAB signal. But the machine was for my kitchen and wasn't going to be my "state of the art machine."
Very easy to set up, it is indeed correct that the speaker ... ...are about 1 metre in length maybe a little longer so please take note, it could be a problem.
Switched on the auto tune for the DAB radio and oh-no, no BBC DAB stations at all. So re-tuned again and again and again. ...have come across but this hitachi is great value for money. Really easy to use. Can give out a lot of bass when set up correctly but i will warn you thats how i blew the speakers on mine. Cd player will start to skip similar car Cd players if played on loud volumes for extended periods of time or after about 6 months of daily use. The opening mechanism on the cd tray will not open unless its on the cd function (learned the hard way again!). Gets ... ...very well with mp3 players. Has usb and memory card slots and will connect to a computer with red and white audio jacks. All in all i was very pleased with mine, great sound quality for a small price! I would suggest not playing this above volume 25 if you want it to last its life epectancy.
