These are very pricey considering the price of the ipod which comes with a docking station is only around £50 I wouldn’t recommend buying the original Ipod shuffle docking station but shop around for a cheaper more sturdier alternative ...
The apple ipod universal dock mp3 player docking station is really fantastic. I used to use the wire that comes with the ipod, to sync it, but it generally just hung down from my usb connecter onto the floor (my computer is low down). The Apple Infrared remote is a good solution not only for use with an iPod dock, but also with any Macintosh computer that has Frontrow capability. The remote interface is much simpler than the keyspan remote I had previously used, but it works very well. The Apple remote feels strong and I wouldn't worry about it breaking even if it is stepped on. Judging from the performance of similar remotes I have used, the battery should last at least 3 years even under heavy use. The industrial design fits in well with the rest of Apple's designs, so it will not look out of place next to an iPod or Macintosh computer. Advantages: Looks the piece. Sound quality is as good as it gets. Disadvantages: Slight decrease in volume limit but more headphones does not affect this.
The Belkin Headphone splitter in my opinion is one of the best splitters out on the market money can buy. It has a marvling 5 socket adaption for headphones. I bought this a while ago and have been pleased with it ever since. Its sleek design almost looks like a concept. The design has been very well thought over and looks a lot more the piece than the small 2 way splitters. In the picture you see a green wire connecting to the mp3 player. I have used this with 4 friends and it truly works and doesn't loose any sound quality the high number of headphones you go. Also it does not drain the mp3 players battery as you would think it might.
All I would say is that it brings the maximum volume down a little bit when you plug the green wire in but it does not go quieter the more headphones are attached. ...
