Well, hmm…sad to say, that after three months of use, I'm not convinced about ... ...brushable. I do like the Aussie brand- the look of it, that is. It makes me feel like I'm sort of young, carefree and having an adventure in the outback…well, maybe not quite, but I do think they have a good image. This isn't just styling spray after all, it's MEGA styling spray.

Since Christmas, I have been wearing my wear in a style that actually involves getting up in the morning and…doing things to it, with a hair dryer, and styling goop. Don't let the picture on my profile fool you- no, I now have cool Dido-esque flicky hair.
That is, when it behaves itself. I have bad hair days aplenty, when it simply won't do what it is meant to do. That's when the hair styling products really come out in full force.

Well, hmm…sad to say, that after three months of use, I'm not convinced about this product, although it does have some good points.
**CHUNKY PURPLE BOTTLE**
I really like the packaging- it's probably the best thing this product has going for it. It's a happy, chunky, sturdy purple bottle with kangaroos on it. Spray nozzle and lettering in white. Boasting ingredients of Australian Thyme and promising to leave my hair soft and brushable. I do like the Aussie brand- the look of it, that is. It makes me feel like I'm sort of young, carefree and having an adventure in the outback…well, maybe not quite, but I do think they have a good image. This isn't just styling spray after all, it's MEGA styling spray.
"We do hair a little differently" the bottle says, and below, "The Aussie Philosophy." All good, so far. The bottle also informs me that it is 55% VOC, whatver that means, though it indicates it has something to do with improved formula to meet state clean air standards. I have to confess, I don't know if that's something you'd find on a bottle in the UK, but it's interesting to note that the Aussie company are aspiring to meet some sort of environmental standards. I also note that Aussie products are not tested on animals, and the bottles are recyclable. Cool.
**AUSTRALIAN THYME, DO YER STUFF**
The essential ingredient is Australian thyme, which I am assured is an Australian herb with small aromatic leaves which are useful for culinary and medicinal purposes. Note they don't mention beauty hair styling purposes…
The formula contains all sorts of gunk, including alcohol, water, digycol, hydrolized soy protein, and extracts of kangaroo paw, horsetail, the aforementioned thyme, chamolie, dandelion, wild cherry , nettle and garlic. I often wonder how those nice natural extracts feel when dunked into the chemical mix, forced to combat with the aminomethyl propinol and tocopheryl acetate. You’d kind of hope they'd balance each other out.
**THE SMELL**
I mention this particularly because the smell is distinctive…very hard to describe. I like it, it smells like…extracts of kangaroo paw flower? Like I would know…some might find it offputting, and if you need or want your products fragrance free, this is not the product for you.
**DIRECTIONS**
Holding bottle about 8 inches from hair, I'm supposed to spray overall for finishing with a brushable soft touch. Alternatively, I can spray on a small section of hair and set my style.
Well, I've tried both, and to be honest, neither works outstandingly well. Use too much of this stuff and it does leave your hair sticky-ish, despite claims to the contrary. Use too little and you don't notice any styling effect at all. This is a medium-hold bottle I'm reviewing, so the effect might be a bit more vigorous with a stronger strength spray.
The other thing I've noticed is it seems to make my hair dry and frizzier. This may in part be due to the poor condition of my hair from all the dye, the sunlight, the moonlight, the boogie. But I don't think spraying anything with alcohol is going to help matters.
**KEEP AWAY FROM FIRE**
Scrutinising the bottle even more closely, I read that the contents are highly flammmable. Do not use near flame, OK, that makes sense. Also, don't smoke until your hair is fully dry!! Jeez, what a way to guarantee a bad hair day, lighting yourself on fire. I don't smoke, but it does confirm my general unease about the chemical v flower extract content issue.
All in all, I wouldn't rush out to buy this again. As a spray it’s neither one thing or another- it's OK, but it's not fantastic. The hold is generally all right, depending on when I last washed my hair- if my hair is clean, it's really useless, and the hold is quite poor. It might be better for someone with a shorter, spikier do. I like the smell, and the bottle is pleasing, and no animal testing are all plus points, and the price was pretty good. I'd give it an average rating.

On resently seeing aussie hair products advertised i thought i would give it a go,its supposed to be a good brand that keeps your hair in place with no stickyness ,so it said in my resent hair magazine,so i thought why not give it a go,as i love to try out different products as we all do.
It has a pump action spray and there is 250ml in the bottle which i thought was a good amount.The bottle is a a very deep purple,and a rather jazzy pink quite ... ...me off using any other aussie products.I have used home brands that have been cheaper to buy and have worked better to style my hair.
I think the manurfactures need to rethink about this product, they have already lost out on my faith in the product, how many more people will be disatisfied.
Needless to say the bottle of hairspary has led the rest of its shelf life in my dust bin ,its goodbye to aussie hairspray and g,day to old faithfull loreal.

This hairspray promises no stickiness and no flakiness and to set your style. It does just this, but not for a terribly long time. The smell is wonderful for a hairspray. There is no choking feeling when you spray or any rushing to open a window. However, the ultimate purpose of a hairspray is to hold your hair in place and this is where problems arise.
I really only use small amounts on my hair to keep flyaway strands down, so for this the spray ... ...more than this, it begins to get sticky and uncomfortable.
I recommend this for light users of hairspray, but if it is for more frequent use, I suggest you look elsewhere.
The purple can holds 14oz. and seems to last forever and costs around £3 in my experience. It is not tested on animals on the plus side of things. ...

I have bought this Aussie product thinking this would work great on my hair. My hair is fine, and has no body, and I do blowdry and work with my hair to where I think it looks good enough to go out into the world. I used this spray several times thinking it was great, my hair never moved. I mean it did not move, even when I tried to brush my hair and style it again since my hair does go flat quickly. I did use this product for two days and noticed ... ...looked like I had glue holding my hair together, and the closer I looked, I thought maybe I used way too much. So I tried spraying less on my hair the next day. By day 2 I noticed my hair was even a slightly lighter shade from the hairspray drying and becoming a bit white-like and if touched flakey. I did not find this product useful for only one reason it made my hair hold in place. I did'nt appreciate looking at myself in the mirror under a light ...

Advantages: Did not make my hair crunchy or weigh it down Disadvantages: BIG PROBLEM! After a few weeks, noticed flakes STUCK on ALL strands of my hair!
I was really excited to find a spray that was light and didn't weigh my hair down, even when I sprayed it on both roots and ends. After a long day, I could still comb my hair out and it didn't look like a greasy mess. The spray virtually added 'order' to my style--not crispy, crunchy strands like most hairsprays.
But I'm so upset at what I found after a few weeks of using the product. I thought I had very dramatic split ends, and so I trimmed my ... ...out, the white ends were not split ends, but flakes of this product actually STUCK on my hair. Looking more closely, I couldn't believe I hadn't noticed these flakes all through my hair. It is now 2 weeks later and I'm still going through and pulling them out with my nails. I will never, ever use this product again. ...

I needed some gel for my daughters hair so it would hold a curl. Like me, her hair is very fine and it doesn't hold a curl without a styling product. I had heard great things about this spray so I bought Aussie Firm Hold MegaSpray Gel for Sculpting & Shaping.
It comes in a plain purple bottle that holds 12 fluid ounces. It is a pump spray so it clogs easily. It does deliver an even amount of gel each time you spray, unless its clogged.
Spray on wet hair. Comb through hair for overall styling or target certain areas for extra lift. For volume, shape with brush as you blow dry. For wet look, style with fingers and air dry.
If sprayer clogs, remove and rinse under warm water.
This is your typical spray gel. Its very sticky coming out of the bottle but it does go on evenly if the pumps hole is not clogged.
