All about Malorie Blackmans
Review of Malorie Blackman by DixieChick10

Advantages: Some info on the writer of Noughts & Crosses
Disadvantages: Bit borin

...after read many books, but Malorie Blackman changed that. My mate said she was reading Noughts & Crosses and loved it. So I went into the library and had all 4 books read within 2 weeks. She's still on Checkmate, lol. If you like Romeo & Juliet you should like Noughts & Crosses, she never wanted it to seem like Romeo & Juliet but you do see the parallels between them as you read. She wanted to write a book on slavery, so she started Noughts & Crosses. ...
...Eye Knife Edge Checkmate Malorie Blackman was asked to do a book for World Book Day, and that's where an eye for an eye came about. It's only about 30 pages long but I think it's still a good book. If you get Nought's & Crosses the newest edition it should have An Eye For An Eye in the back. My favourite book is Noughts & Crosses because I love reading about Callum & Sephy but the distance in Checkmate between Sephy and her teenager daughter Callie ... Read review

The unsung genius of William Blake
Review of William Blake by Pete11

Advantages: beautiful, prophetic and soul/ life enhancing
Disadvantages: no

The work of William Blake is just heartbreakingly beautiful. If the concept of God revolves around the presence of love and happiness and joy and passion then the poetry and mythology of this man is holy. Indeed his work is so astonishing that the interpretation of his poetry has been a reference point for my development as a human being for the last year: The Blossom Merry Merry Sparrow, Under leaves so green, A happy Blossom Sees you swift ...
...Pretty Pretty Robin, Under leaves so green, A happy Blossom Hears you sobbing, sobbing. Pretty Pretty Robin Near my Bosom. Where can one begin? Why would someone want to start picking this entity apart? Its seems so pure and untouchable- the perfect metaphor for the little sparrow, the singular rhyming couplet in both verses perhaps conveying the spontinaity of nature. It makes you feel happy to be alive in this bright and wonderful world- ... Read review

Requiem for a dealer by Jo Bannister
Review of Jo Bannister by CPTDANIELS

Advantages: Good plot, very well written and good characterization
Disadvantages: Brodie indicision with her two men

Jo Bannister has written 20 acclaimed novels. Her specialism is crime thrillers, of which this is a good example of her work. This novel features Brodie Farrell, Daniel Hood and Jack Deacon. Her writing is always crisp and very descriptive. Allowing you to feel you are involved in the mystery and feel empathy with some of the characters.(Certainly the 3 main ones anyway!) Through her writing you could clearly understand and see the key characters ...
...would react to the new developments in the case. The story starts with Daniel Hood being given a driving lesson from his good friend Brodie Farrell. When a girl dashes out across the road and is stuck by their vehicle. The hysterical girl Alison Barker claims he is trying to kill her.Much to their utter disbelief. And then runs into the night seemingly unharmed but very confused by the experience. Due to the author's great story telling ability, ... Read review

The wonderful world of Bujold
Review of Lois McMaster Bujold by mycatis

Advantages: incredfible writing
Disadvantages: erm none, honestly

Lois McMaster Bujold is, in my opinion, one of the best writers of science fiction around today. She has won many awards, including Nebula's and hugo, some of the higest awards in science fiction writing. Her most famous series is her Vorkosigan series, which follows the life of Miles Vorkosigan, a dwarfish, manic, brilliant man. The first book begins with his parents meeting each other, in the middle of an intergalactic war, in which they were ...
...he grows up, trying to make a life for himself in a world were strength and military valour are all important and any hint of being a 'mutant' is disgusting to people. Miles is one of the best, funniest, most amazing character ever, he is just so real, you cant help but adore him. You feel you have lived his life with him and that you genuinly know this amazing, brilliant, infuriating little man. This space opera series is incredible, I've read ... Read review

A Versatile Author!
Review of Tami Hoag by DiamondCat

Advantages: great writing in two genres
Disadvantages: she won't lay off cheap romance

Tami Hoag is a best selling American author of suspense and romance novels. I can only comment on the suspense ones as I never read romance. I first read one of her books, Cry Wolf, last autumn. I was very impressed and decided to read more and do some research on this author. Before publishing her first book, a romance novel in 1988, she held various other jobs. After a number of love stories she moved on to crime writing. Hoag published thirteen ...
...been made into a TV miniseries. Due to her high profile success she also participated in one of Barbara Bush's literary function and was asked to read at it. Here is a quick overview of her work, afterwards I will mention which ones I'm familiar with. Independent crime Novels - Still Waters (1992) - Dark Paradise (1994) - A Thin Dark Line (1997) - Dark Horse (2002) - Kill the Messenger (2004) - Alibi Man (2007) Kovac/Liska Series - Ashes to ...
