Meg Cabot-brilliant author
Review of Meg Cabot by
baxter93
Advantages: great writing technique, gripping books
Disadvantages: hard to put down books!
I only know her for writing the fabulous teen girly books such as Princess Diaries and The Mediator series. I don't really know anything about her personally...but I plan to do some researching!
Of course she is a successful writer as you can see by her book, Princess Diaries, being made into a very successful film. It's more of a 'chick flick' but I'm pretty sure anyone would enjoy it.
As for her books-the first one I read, Teen Idol, belonged ... ...taken in by the eye-catching pink girly cover and was glued to the book 'til I finished.
I then went on to read several other books by her such as the Mediator books. I don't know what it is that makes her books so great...maybe it's her writing style which shows she really understands her audience and can write in a way they acknowledge or maybe it's the gripping story lines, brilliant characters and suprising twists.
I'm not going to ruin any ...

Douglas Coupland - creater of modern classics
Review of Douglas Coupland by
mycatis
Advantages: A great social commentator
Disadvantages: his later books are not as good
I love Douglas Coupland. He is definately one of today's most important and influential authors.
His novels include the modern classic Generation X, (1991)
Life after God (1994)
Girlfriend in a coma, (1997)
All families are psychotic, (2001)
Hey Nostradamus (2003)
and many more.
He has also written some non-fiction such as 'Polaroids from the Dead' and 'city of glass'.
He is an amazing visionary and there really is no-one else writing like ... ...his books, in the right frame of mind (open that is ha ha) they can be very inspiring and uplifting.
(can I point out that I know this is not a review of an audio book but that is the catagory poor Douglas has been stored under on here) ...

Mary Higgins Clark - great author
Review of Mary Higgins Clark by
lucindajojo
Advantages: fairly short, easy to read
Disadvantages: ending becomes obvious after reading a few of her books
I have read several of Mary Higgins Clark's books and i found them all gripping. The books are easy readers and fairly short, which means that the story progresses rapidly keeping the reader entertained. The downside to Mary Higgins Clark's books is that after reading a few the ending becomes clear soon after starting a new story, but that doesnt stop the pages in the middle been gripping. I have often stayed up late into the night reading her novels ... ...books to anyone, even if you arent a fan of crime novels. I would specifically recomend where are the children, I found it to be slightly different from the other books I have read by Mary Higgins Clark but still interesting, and it kept me up late into the night. ...

martina cole
Review of Martina Cole by
tanya2105
Advantages: lots of books available
Disadvantages: none
martina cole. she was born in essex in 1958 and has written and released thirteen novels since 2006, two of her novels have been adapted for television and she has acheived more than 3 million sales worlwide.some of her books can be purchased on audio but i prefer to read them myself as i feel i can lose myself completely.
well what can i say she is a truely talented writer i started my relastionship with her by reading two women and i have to say ... ...book to escape to then martina cole is your lady almost all her books are based around a female who is just trying to survive like we all do, many of her books are based on the irish community living in london and as an irish girl myself i can relate to the fact that alot of the characters family values are shockingly true.
very real yet very gritty.
if you do choose to take on martina cole then i would highly reccomend starting with two women ...
